Bourton-on-the-Water - Often voted as one of England’s most charming villages, Bourton-on-the-Water captivates both visitors and locals. Dubbed the Venice of the Cotswolds, this village boasts a variety of attractions, shops, restaurants, and tea rooms, or simply offers a peaceful spot by the River Windrush, crossed by its five arched bridges. The village’s most cherished feature is its serene river, sourced from numerous springs about ten miles away, which continued to flow even during the 1976 drought. As the river enters the village center, it flows over the rapids near the Old Mill, passing under a collection of arched stone bridges by the green, lined with Cotswold stone banks.

Bibury - Upon arriving in Bibury, one might feel transported to another era. The village was famously described by British poet, artist, and novelist William Morris (1834-96) as “the most beautiful village in England.” Bibury’s attractions include Arlington Row, a 17th-century row of weavers’ cottages made from local stone beside the River Coln. This area is one of the most photographed in the region and was a filming location for the 2007 movie ‘Stardust’. Nearby, visitors can explore the Bibury Trout Farm and a Saxon Church. The River Coln flows between the main village street and a water meadow, creating a picturesque scene with Arlington Row as a backdrop, making it one of the most scenic spots in the Cotswolds.

Arlington Row - The charming Arlington Row cottages in Bibury were originally constructed in 1380 as a monastic wool store, later transformed into a row of weavers’ cottages in the 17th century. The cloth produced at Arlington Row was sent to Arlington Mill across Rack Isle, where it was degreased and then hung on wooden frames on Rack Isle.
