It has served as the official residence of the Prime Minister since 1735. The door that Churchill entered as Prime Minister in 1940 is displayed in the Churchill War Rooms.
• Churchill War Rooms - Enjoy a private guided tour with entrance tickets and skip-the-line access to the Churchill War Rooms, the secret underground headquarters of the War Cabinet during WWII. Discover how these rooms became the nerve center of Britain’s wartime government, where Churchill declared in May 1940, “This is the room from which I’ll direct the war.” The marks on his chair’s arm testify to the stress he endured.
