A Fascinating Journey Through Mount Etna’s Volcanic Landscape - This excursion was excellent! The tour is beautiful, featuring an easy walk around secondary craters and a 200-meter visit inside a lava cave. Gabrielle is an outstanding guide: friendly, attentive, and highly knowledgeable, providing plenty of interesting and valuable information throughout the experience.

Very good trip, would recommend. - Great experience. Easy booking through Tripadvisor. Pick up from accommodation in the morning, tour guide very friendly with excellent English. Explained Etna very well. Short hike around one of the craters, lava cave exploration and valley of the ox. Nice touch with a sample of sweet Sicilian wine and biscotti. Opportunity to buy souvenirs also. Would highly recommend (but one caveat, the minivan A/C wasn't great and it was 30ºC on the hour drive back to Catania).

Great day trip! - Enjoyed the van ride up to the mountain and the short hike (about 1 km). Views were wonderful. Our guide, Amelia, was quite knowledgeable and engaging! One of best tours we have taken on our trip to Sicily!!

Adventure fun! - Nice adventure! Volcano and cave tour were unique and interesting. Hike would be challenging for someone who is not reasonably fit. Guides were very informative and thoughtful.

Value for money - Lifetime experience. You don't see all that any day. The weather was great and the guide very experienced and friendly.

A Path Best Taken - Luca ensured that every moment of this experience was unforgettable. During our drive to the site, he gave us background history of Catania and Mt Etna to prepare us for the adventure. When we got there, our first stop was an idyllic area where we got to take in an old lava flow. It was huge and beautiful. During that time, we sampled local trays, homemade biscotti and local wine, if we wished. After that, we drove down the road. Suited up with helmets and flashlights, we explored an old lava tube, with his guidance, an experience of a lifetime. Before our final adventure, we we given time for a snack and a break. We then hiked about about an hour around the rim of an amazing volcanic crater, truly amazing. Luca guide. He truly cared sbout those of us he guiding, not about himself, upselling us, or angling for a big tip, as we experienced just the day before. He made sure I comfortable with the hike. I am pretty fit, but older and had recent back issues. I am so glad he encouraged me to try it and he looked out for me along the way. We also had my family, including my 5 ur old grandson and he did well with every past of the trip. I will always remember this experience. Luca was also fun, playing popular and Italian music. This was not the most luxury tour I ever took, but it was one of the best. Thank you Luca. You are a true professional and obviously love what you do!

Great tour around Etna and its caves - This tour shows you around Etna’s outskirts, its caves and the beginning of the summit. My tour guide Gabriele had great friendly energy and was very informative!

A long day wasted - The trip to Etna was not one I could recommend. The guide was nice and pleasant but he clearly did not read the room as far a people being able to meet his physical expectation. The pick-up and drive to Etna was long with several stops spread across Catania. When the hike portion of the excursion took place, he an experience hiker, literally was outpacing many on the tour and forced people to hike at a higher pace than necessary. The hike began at an elevation of 6,700 feet so the air was thin. Being an experience hiker myself, this trail with loose volcanic gravel at points would be rated "difficult". Some of the participants considered stopping and turning back. The tour description should have discussed the level of difficulty. Also, when we entered the volcanic cave the footing was treacherous and unstable, and once again it should have been described when marketing the tour. When walking thru the cave he simple bolted down the tunnel without regard as to how everyone behind was doing. One person slipped and turned an ankle and thankfully no-one slipped or cut themselves on the sharp volcanic rocks. Overall, door to door from pick-up to drop-off it was 7 1/2 hours. Too long for a very unpleasant experience.
