- Port Elizabeth - Guests are welcomed at 8am for a brief orientation before embarking on a journey into the stunning Algoa Bay aboard a twin-engine catamaran. Whale watching season kicks off in June, with humpback whales migrating along the coast towards their breeding areas in East Africa. These majestic creatures are visible in Algoa Bay from June to early December, with their return journey starting in October, often accompanied by calves. Southern right whales are also visible close to shore from July to September.
- Port Elizabeth - The Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins are the most commonly sighted dolphins in the bay, appearing year-round in groups ranging from 10 to 400. These lively dolphins are typically found in shallow waters near beaches or around St Croix Island, often approaching boats to ride the bow waves. Common dolphins are another breathtaking sight, seen in groups of 1,000 to 2,000, swimming swiftly. They are frequently observed throughout the year further out at sea, especially during bird island tours, as they follow large schools of baitfish passing through the bay. Humpback dolphins are also present in Algoa Bay, usually in smaller groups of 1 to 20, and are most often seen during the summer months.
- Port Elizabeth - St. Croix Island hosts 12,000 endangered African penguins, the largest breeding colony in Africa, although there has been a 70% decline over the past decade. Visitors can enjoy a close-up view of these charming birds. The peak breeding season for African penguins is between March and May, when chicks may be visible from the boat. In addition to African penguins, St. Croix and Brenton Island are home to the endangered African black oystercatcher, white-breasted cormorants, and Cape cormorants. The St. Croix Island group, along with the Bird Island group, is part of the Addo Elephant National Park, where rangers patrol to support conservation efforts for the African penguin population. As these are Marine Protected Areas, visitors are not permitted to set foot on the islands.
- Port Elizabeth - Besides the aforementioned wildlife, there is a chance to spot white-breasted cormorants, Cape cormorants, Bryde’s whales, minke whales, Cape fur seals, various shark species, Cape gannets, and a variety of pelagic birds including terns, petrels, skuas, shearwaters, and albatrosses.

Our cruise is unique in that we operate in the diverse Algoa Bay, rich in wildlife and history. Visiting St Croix island, home to half the worlds remaining endangered African Penguins. This tour is run just once a day instead of trying to run multiple cruises in one day. This ensures that our skippers and guides are fresh and alert for every cruise and makes it possible to spend more time and effort searching for wildlife in our Bay or observing something special that we come across provided that no one on board is in a rush to get back for a flight or bookings previously made. Our main focus is education, conservation and assisting in research which is made possible by the funds generated from our Marine Eco-Cruises out into Algoa Bay. Trees are planted to balance our carbon footprint for each cruise conducted. We use smaller boats so as to keep our cruises personal. Our skippers and Guides are very knowledge and are there to answer any questions and see to the needs of our Guests.
