Such a great experience with my 17 year old grandson! Very good teaching from Daniel and fun fot everyone to get hands on with glass tools and make a piece of their own. Will also be bringing an 11 year old next month and excited to try blowing techniques next.
My boyfriend and I had so much fun in the Hot Glass Experience Workshop! The class started with the instructor, Daniel, asking us to choose from several sample projects to create. He had lots of choices (bird, flower, conch shell, ash tray, etc.). Daniel was also open to requests for creating other things, and he was good about explaining why certain options would be too difficult for a beginner. After we selected our projects, Daniel gave us a demonstration, showing us how to create different types of glass projects and explaining safety issues. After that, he helped each of us individually with creating our chosen project. Daniel was very calm and patient with his students. He did a great job of helping us fix any mistakes so that our final projects came out looking nice. My only warning to other potential clients is that the glass is not ready to take home right away. You have to leave it at the studio for at least two days so that it will have a chance to cool down properly. So, if you're driving to Cleveland from somewhere far away, you should keep in mind that you will need to return to pick up your glass project. (This was not a problem for us, but I could see it being a problem for someone who is visiting Cleveland from out of town.) Overall we had a great experience and hope to return for another workshop sometime!
Dan was an awesome instructor! Very patient, calm, and informative. Really cool down-to-earth guy who was fun to talk to. He definitely has a passion for glassworking. Would recommend!
Truly enjoyed our glass blowing glass. Lots of fun, appreciating the focus on safety and getting the participants to really walk away feeling like the had a good experience and they did the project themselves with excellent instruction.
It was a fun experience for us. We enjoyed the small class that we got lots of attention and help. Will definitely consider coming back for other projects again. Thanks.
Awesome experience! Daniel was an excellent teacher - very intelligent, patient, friendly. He provided the perfect balance of autonomy/assistance. Definitely suggest this to anyone who is interested in glass, art, or just wants to do a fun activity on the weekend.
Daniel was very knowledgeable & made us feel comfortable. We had tons of fun & ended up with really cool looking pieces.

This was truly a creative and engaging experience...Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Excellent experience and instructor (Dan). Recommend giving the workshop a try.
We had sooo much fun!! Daniel was an excellent instructor and thanks to his help we were able to make beautiful pieces!! I would recommend attending of these classes!
This was such a great experience! Amber, the instructor, is so passionate about her job and teaching these small classes. I would highly recommend giving this a try with a couple of friends.
The class was very engaging and fun. We really enjoyed learning about the art of creating with glass and making our own things.
I was a first timer at glassblowing and the class was awesome! Dan did demonstrations of the pieces to make you familiar with the process first and then you got to do it yourself. He walked you through every step of the way and helped out when needed. 10/10 would recommend. Such a fun experience!
Overall, I am satisfied with my Hot Glass Workshop. I took my mom for her birthday, it was a surprise and she really enjoyed it. Daniel is a great teacher. He is very knowledgeable and good at what he does. We had the luxury of it only being us 2 in the class with Daniel, so he was able to give us more direction than is more people would have been in our class. You can tell Daniel actually likes what he does. My only criticisms were 2 things: 1 parking. When you arrive at the building there's a parking lot in front of it, however that parking lot apparently doesn't belong to Ohio City Glass so you can't park there. You have to find parking on the street. This isn't a huge inconvenience, just wish I knew before I parked to kill 2 birds with one stone. 2nd critique, is that Ohio City Glass didn't have many "colors" to add to your glass. You take the class, and make this cool piece of art, only to have a select colors to add to it. So hopefully you aren't trying to make a gift for anyone because you will be limited to using very few colors for your project.
The studio was difficult to find because of lack of signage. The instructor was not very patient and made me feel stupid and small. I have taken several of these classes and other studios and found a much more enjoyable
We had a great time learning.
We learned a lot in the short amount of time and with help did a lot.
Daniel was very informative and extremely patient. He made the class very interesting and fun. I would recommend it for a great day out on a dreary winter day or whenever you need a little change of pace!
The instructor was a bit impatient with the students in the class.
Daniel, the owner and trainer, was extremely knowledgeable and accomplished but what made it an awesome experience was his ability to teach, and his kind, humorous and patient manner. Four of us went to his demo/class and all four of us,ranging in age from 18 to 50, had a fun and memorable time. Would recommend his classes to anyone and everyone.
This was very fun! We will definitely be back for another class.
The instructor was very patient and informative. He helped when needed, but allowed us to do a lot of the project on our own.
Dan did a great job leading the class! I would go back again to make something else again!
Great class! Very informative, educational and fun!
On Groupon this class is listed as Introductory to Glassblowing. I signed my friend and I up for this class because glassblowing was on her bucket list. Hot Glass Experience is a more fitting name and describes the class more accurately. The instructor was very nice in the beginning but a little gruff with us once we started working with the glass. My friend and I did enjoy the class and I am glad we did it.
I found it fun and enjoyed the hands on experience.
My wife and I really enjoyed this class. Daniel was very patient working with us. It is not as easy as it looks. We are anxious to pick up our bird and peacock and see the final product after it has cooled. My daughter and son-in-law took this same class a year or so ago and also really enjoyed it.
We had a great time at our class. Very informative! We learned so much!
Fun class with a very patient instructor. Made a cute cat and never thought I'd be able to pull it off! Would highly recommend!!
We had an excellent time! Thank you!
