Amber, our instructor, is an excellent teacher. She was constantly monitoring our safety every step of the way. She explained not only the processes but the science (chemistry/physics/engineering) behind what we were doing. She gave us excellent artistic/creative advice as well. My 12 year-old granddaughter was fascinated and delighted with this experience and it turned out to be the perfect gift for both of us.
instructor was very nice and knowledgeable... studio owner was very rude...I also felt that when working with molten glass more safety measures would have been in place.
My wife and I had the time of our lives!!
This was an amazing experience! We had a wonderful time, and learned so much. What a great time, with a beautiful outcome!
It was fun! Our instructor was very knowledgeable and talented providing just enough guidance.
The class was great and the owner was very knowledgeable and down to earth
Very patient and calm teacher. Perfect in adding assistance and talking you through the steps. Definetely helps growing interest of doing this.
I had a great time. Instructor was easy going and taught us a lot. The hands on was lore than I expected and I liked that as well. Looking forward to picking up my piece.
Outstanding hands-on glass experience with great teacher. Amber made sure we got to do as much as each of the four of us were able. My 10 year old grandson had as much fun as I did at 64. As a former Art teacher with a little experience in glass, I was able to blow and craft a pumpkin, with a lot of help. Much better than our experiences at Corning Glass Museum in NY.
It was a great experience
Great instructor. Great time. Definitely need more than one water there..lol
We enjoyed seeing a demonstration of how glass objects are made and then got to try doing it ourselves. We enjoyed the experience. It's a lot harder than it looks!
The overall experience was a good one, as working with hot glass is interesting and unique. David is very knowlegeable, and provided excellent information as to why things are done a certain way and how glass reacts. That being said, we were not greeted when we arrived; asked our names nor did he introduce himself until almost halfway through the class. Several times during the demonstration at the beginning he stated he didnt expect us to remember everything or be very good our first time. However, he became very frustrated very quickly with each one of us the minute we did something wrong and went as far as raising his voice to us numerous times. There were only four of us, 3 females and one male. Not a large class. Thankfully the experience itself is very cool, as his attitude was not. We will definitely take another workshop or hopefully claases in the future, just not with him.
Learned a lot about this art form, enjoyed participating and working with the glass under instructor's supervision, made a beautiful glass ball! Safe, fun and easy!
I had a great experience and it was a lot of fun.
This was my first experience working with hot glass. Like any craft, skills are built with time and practice. Grateful for the guidance and interception of our instructor to improve my piece. Haven't seen the finished work yet but looking forward to it. He seemed to think it will turn out well. Learned it takes a bit of coordination and balance along with remembering the instructions to have a positive outcome. . Really helped to wear sunglasses as recommended by the instructor. If you listen carefully and follow his instructions, you'll do fine. For a first time, keeping the project simple was the best decision for me. Overall, it was an interesting and fun experience to see first hand how its done! Have a whole new respect for Art Glass Designers and Artists. Fun to see what other students made and what colors they used. If you're looking for a new adventure, this one is a great choice!
The class went smoothly and everyone was happy
Good overall experience for newbies. Daniel is well-versed in the art. The equipment could be more user-friendly. Examples would be tape where hand placement should be, or another tactile reminder; Outline on the table where tongs and other equipment should sit . These simple changes might cut down on Daniel needing to repeat Instructions. We enjoyed the new experience.
Dan was great. Really good with his demonstrations. Thanks for being patient with us rookies. My wife was very impressed with the bird I brought home.
We had a great time. Great place to take your wife for some quality time together.
I thought the instructor could have used an assistant. She could only work with one person while the other 5 people sat and watched.
It was an informative and fun experience. Amber was an excellent teacher.
Amazing Experience!! Will be booking again soon!!
Was so much fun. Daniel really was so helpful and kind. Didn't think I could do it but I did! Our son picked it up for us so we haven't seen it yet. He said my bird and dad's box was really nice. Thank you for everything
Awesome experience!!! Thanks Dan!
Great time! Very informative and interesting. The owner has a great sense of humor and you can tell he really enjoys his job.
The environment was exciting and comfortable. New experiences can be daunting but our instructor was helpful and informative! I love learning about this art form and getting a chance to experience it.
Excellent teacher, very patient and knowledgeable
This gave us a great opportunity to see what goes in to creating glass art. Would love to do it again!!
This was truly a great learning experience! Very hands on and fun!
We thoroughly enjoyed the Hot Glass Experience Workshop. We learned a lot about the art of making glass from Daniel, the artist/owner and Amber, who expertly and patiently helped us make our own glass creations. We have observed others blowing glass before, but this is a unique hands- on experience. I highly recommend it! I
Amazing experience! Got to actually make something and learned so much!! Would love to do again! So worth it!
Was a lot of fun and learning experience. Will be going back to do it again.
Daniel was so wonderful and patient with my husband and me. We had a great time and learned a lot about glassblowing. Looks much easier than it truly is.
We thoroughly enjoyed our class time at Ohio City Glass.
Thank you Dan for the great experience! This was a great date night! Would recommend for a group of friends, family activity or homeschooler! Restaurants nearby!
Amber was an awesome instructor. We really enjoyed the whole experience. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to pick up our ornaments today (3/5/2018) and I cannot find a phone number to call. We are hoping we can have someone stop in Thursday or Friday to pick them up. If all else fails, I can pick them up Saturday. Please don’t discard them. My name is Shari Truce and Lisa Cook was with me. My number is 330-389-2222 if you need to contact me. Thank you.
