Day 1: Tirana to Saranda

The Blue Eye - The “Blue Eye” is a captivating water spring and natural wonder located in the village of Muzinë in the Finiq municipality, southern Albania. This popular tourist spot features crystal-clear blue waters visible from depths exceeding fifty meters. Take a refreshing pause at this breathtaking natural spring, explore the picturesque surroundings, capture stunning photos, and revel in the vibrant blue waters.

Saranda - Sarandë is a charming city in the Republic of Albania and serves as the seat of the Sarandë Municipality. Geographically, it is situated on an open sea gulf of the Ionian Sea within the Mediterranean Sea. Stretching along the Albanian Ionian Sea Coast, Sarandë enjoys a Mediterranean climate with over 300 sunny days annually. After visiting the Blue Eye, we will arrive in Saranda City. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the promenade, explore local shops, or unwind at the beach.

Lekuresi Castle - Optional: Visit the ancient ruins of Lekuresi Castle for panoramic views of Saranda at sunset. Delight in a dinner at Lekuresi Castle featuring traditional Albanian cuisine. Lekuresi Castle (Kalaja e Lëkurësit) is perched on Lekuresi Hill, just behind Saranda, offering a breathtaking view over the town and bay, making it the most popular and iconic viewpoint in Saranda.

Gjirokaster - Gjirokastra enchants with its steep, almost magical alleys, where each building tells its story in stone. Located in southern Albania, Gjirokastra is nestled on the steep slopes of the Drino River valley, boasting a commanding position and a landscape rich in history.

This is the “city of a thousand staircases,” featuring hundreds of houses—Ottoman-style towers with stone roofs, wooden balconies, and stone walls. With a magnificent castle on a steep hill, Gjirokastra is a magical city with a storied past. Since 2005, it has been part of UNESCO’s World Heritage.

Butrint National Archaeological Park - Enjoy breakfast in Saranda and prepare for a day of exploration. We will visit Butrint National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover the extensive ruins, including the ancient theater, basilica, and city walls, while enjoying the lush natural surroundings.

Plazhi Ksamilit - Enjoy free time for lunch in Ksamil, relishing the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea.

Tepelene - Begin the journey back, pausing for scenic views along the way. If time permits, we will stop at “Uji i Ftohte” near Tepelena to relax, breathe in the fresh air, and rejuvenate.

Tirana - Arrival in Tirana: We will drop off all guests at their designated meeting points.
