This tour offers an enchanting exploration of the city, featuring visits to the medieval Bazaar, the renowned Argjiro Castle, and the well-preserved Zekate House. The journey begins at Cerciz Topulli Square with a knowledgeable local guide, proceeding to the Old Bazaar. A stop at the Neck of Bazaar allows for an encounter with artisans practicing traditional methods, before heading to the Castle. Spanning 2.5 hectares, the castle is rich in history, tragedy, and legends, all of which the guide will share. Positioned 330 meters above sea level, visitors can enjoy stunning views of Gjirokastra, with its characteristic tower houses clad in grey stone, typically two or three stories high. The final destination is the Zekate House, a gift from Ali Pasha Tepelena to his accountant, Beqir Zeko. This tour is designed to immerse participants in the unique, magical, and welcoming atmosphere of Gjirokastra, beyond just visiting its famous sites.
