- Pyramids of Giza - Begin your adventure with a pick-up from your requested location by a GEM Explore Egyptologist, embarking on a journey through Cairo to the magnificent Great Pyramids of Giza. Here, you will marvel at the pyramids of King Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. The tour continues with a visit to the Valley Temple of Khafre, the site where King Khafre’s royal body was received. This temple was constructed for the mummification process of King Khafre. Finally, enjoy a close-up view of the Great Sphinx, the majestic guardian of the Pyramids, featuring a lion’s body and the head of King Khafre. (Please note that entering the pyramids requires a special ticket, and the guide will gladly assist you.)
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The pyramid of Khufu is the only surviving wonder of the ancient seven wonders, standing tall today! It was the tallest building on earth for over 3800 years. The complex includes a valley temple, currently buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman; diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, though the site remains unexcavated. With your expert Egyptologist, you will explore the entire area.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - The second tallest pyramid in the complex is dedicated to King Chefren or Khafre. The entire complex is well-preserved, allowing you to explore the valley temple and the causeway of King Khafre with your Egyptologist. (Please note that entering the pyramids requires a special ticket, and the guide will be happy to assist.)
- Menkaure Pyramid - The smallest pyramid on the Giza plateau, now standing at about 61 meters high, is unique due to its granite outer layer that remains on the lower part of the pyramid. The granite was sourced from Aswan, over 1000 kilometers from Giza!
- Panoramic view of the Pyramids - Next, enjoy a visit to a panoramic viewpoint of the six pyramids and the city of Giza, where you will have 10 minutes to take photos and soak in the view.
- Great Sphinx - With the same entry ticket to the pyramids area, you will have a close-up view of the Great Sphinx, the guardian of the Pyramids, with a lion’s body and the head of King Khafre. You will have ample time to take photos, with assistance from our guide, who are also expert photographers.
- Saqqara - After lunch, embark on an amazing journey through the villages to Saqqara, one of Egypt’s most significant archaeological sites, to see the oldest pyramid ever built and the surrounding tombs. There is a possibility to enter some pyramids for free. Please note that entering the Saqqara pyramid and the new Southern tomb of King Zoser requires a special ticket.
- Pyramid of Djoser - The step pyramid of King Djoser, dating back to 2670 BC, is the oldest stone structure in the world. The pyramid is part of a vast complex (Colonnaded Entrance, Sed Festival complex, Enclosure wall, North and South Pavilions, Southern Tomb, and thousands of surrounding tombs). With your knowledgeable tour guide, you will learn much more about King Djoser, his talented architect Imhotep, and the new discoveries in Saqqara. (Please note that entering the pyramid or the southern tomb requires a special ticket, and the guide will be happy to assist.)
- Tomb of Idut - The Tomb of Idut (Idu) is located in the section of the Pyramid of Unas, within the Necropolis of Saqqara. It is one of the site’s most significant tombs. Its owner was a princess of the Royal Family who lived at the end of the Fifth Dynasty and the beginning of the Sixth Dynasty. The tomb is renowned for its captivating scenes, distinguished by their vibrant colors, depicting offerings and daily life activities. Some scenes show men fishing with dip-nets, scribes, a statue of the Princess being transported on a sled to the tomb, a man pouring water before the sled, agricultural activities, papyrus harvest, livestock, and butchers. You will then begin your journey back to your hotel.
