- Pyramids of Giza - Begin with a pickup from your hotel, followed by a guided tour with our Egyptologist to the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, some of the world’s most iconic ancient structures. The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three, is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Pyramid of Khafre, slightly smaller, has a more intact pyramidion, while the Pyramid of Menkaure, the smallest, features more complex internal structures. Nearby stands the Sphinx, a colossal limestone statue with a lion’s body and a human head, believed to have been built during Khafre’s reign. Marvel at the engineering and construction feats of the ancient Egyptians and learn about their culture and beliefs. (Entering the pyramids requires an additional ticket).
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the world’s most renowned ancient structures, is located on the Giza Plateau near Cairo. It is believed to have been built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu of the Fourth Dynasty during the Old Kingdom period. Constructed with an estimated 2.3 million stone blocks, each weighing between 2 and 80 tons, the pyramid took around 20 years to complete. Originally standing at 146 meters (481 feet), erosion and the removal of outer casing stones have reduced its height to about 138 meters (453 feet). The pyramid’s interior is equally impressive, featuring three main chambers: the King’s Chamber, the Queen’s Chamber, and the Subterranean Chamber. The King’s Chamber, located at the pyramid’s core, contains an empty sarcophagus, believed to be Khufu’s final resting place.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - The Pyramid of Khafre, slightly smaller than the Great Pyramid, is notable for its more intact pyramidion. Built for Pharaoh Khafre during the Fourth Dynasty, it stands approximately 136 meters tall. The pyramid complex includes the Great Sphinx, a mortuary temple, and a valley temple. Visitors can explore the exterior and the surrounding complex as part of a guided tour of the Giza Plateau.
- Menkaure Pyramid - The Pyramid of Menkaure, the smallest of the three main pyramids at Giza, was built for Pharaoh Menkaure during the Fourth Dynasty. Standing at about 65 meters tall with a base of 102 meters on each side, it was originally covered in smooth Tura limestone, much of which has been removed. Inside, there are three chambers designed to hold the Pharaoh’s sarcophagus and funerary equipment. Unique for its granite block base, the complex also includes smaller pyramids for Menkaure’s queens, a mortuary temple, a causeway, and a valley temple. Visitors can explore the exterior and the complex as part of a guided tour of the Giza Plateau.
- Great Sphinx - Continue to the Sphinx, a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a human head, and learn about its significance in ancient Egyptian culture. Following this, enjoy a camel ride through the desert sands, experiencing the ancient Egyptians’ mode of transport. Then, embark on an exhilarating 1-hour ATV Quad bike ride through the desert, taking in the stunning views.
Afterward, break for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant with a rooftop offering panoramic views of the pyramids and the surrounding area. Take a 30-minute rest after lunch.
