- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, currently buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Although diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, the site remains unexcavated.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860. Khafre (c.2558–2532 BC), known to the ancient Greeks as Khefren, was the son of King Khufu (Cheops), the creator of the Great Pyramid. He constructed the second pyramid complex at Giza, positioning his tomb on slightly higher ground to appear as tall as his father’s. Standing at 143.5 meters, his pyramid is slightly shorter but remains a magnificent monument. Its core is built from local limestone blocks. The top still retains the polished high-quality limestone blocks that once covered most of the structure. This white stone was quarried in Turah, south of Maadi, and transported by ship.
- Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple originally housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple.
- Great Sphinx - The Great Sphinx of Giza, often called the Sphinx of Giza or simply the Sphinx, is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a pharaoh’s head. It faces directly from West to East and is located on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. The Sphinx’s face is widely believed to represent the pharaoh Khafre.
