- Pyramids of Giza - Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx: This is the most significant attraction of Cairo tours and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Great Pyramid dates back to the Old Kingdom (2580-2560 B.C.).
The Great Pyramid of King Cheops, also known as Khufu, is the oldest and largest pyramid on the Giza Plateau. It is the last remaining wonder of the ancient world. These pyramids were constructed during the Old Kingdom’s 4th dynasty and stand about 147 meters high.
Following this, visitors will see the Pyramid of Khafre, also known as King Chephren, who was the son of Khufu and the owner of the second pyramid. He ruled Egypt for 26 years. The Chephren Pyramid is the second tallest and second largest of the ancient Egyptian pyramids, constructed in 2570 B.C. His burial chamber was discovered in 1818 A.D. by Italian archaeologist Giovanni Battista.
Next, visit the Pyramid of Menkaure, the smallest of the three pyramids, constructed in 2510 B.C. during the 4th dynasty of the Old Kingdom. It was built using limestone and red granite. The exact date of construction is unknown as Menkaure’s reign has not been precisely defined, but it was likely completed in the 26th century B.C.
The last important stop is the Great Sphinx, built by the owner of the second pyramid, Chephren, to serve as a guardian (Great Sphinx of Giza). It is a limestone statue, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and a human head. The face of the Sphinx is generally believed to represent Pharaoh Khafra.

Pyramids of Dahshour - Dahshur: This is a royal necropolis from the Old Kingdom period, located about 40 km south of Cairo. It features two famous pyramids, among the oldest, finest, and best-preserved in Egypt. The first is the Red Pyramid, where visitors can enter the burial chamber where the pharaoh was once buried, without any extra charge. Then, visit the Bent Pyramid, also known as the Curved Pyramid, which has a unique design with two angles, one at the base and another midway up. This pyramid is renowned for having the most well-preserved outer casing of any pyramid in Egypt. However, entry is not permitted for safety reasons.
-
Memphis and Sakkara - Sakkara: This is a vast ancient burial ground in Egypt, serving as the necropolis for the ancient Egyptian capital, Memphis. Here, visitors can see the first step pyramid, constructed in 2670 B.C. during the Old Kingdom’s 3rd dynasty. It was built by the architect Imhotep, who was also the physician to King Zoser. This site features the oldest complete stone building complex known in history: the Step Pyramid. Visitors can also see tombs, such as the Tomb of Idut, daughter of King Teti, the first king of the 6th dynasty, with walls adorned with beautiful inscriptions depicting scenes of everyday life, including fishing, farming, hunting, and tax payment.
Memphis: This is the oldest capital in Egypt, founded by Pharaoh Menes.
