With your knowledgeable tour guide, you’ll learn more about King Djoser, his talented architect Imhotep, and the latest discoveries in Saqqara. • Memphis and Saqqara - Continue the tour with a visit to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. This city features the colossal statue of Ramses II, the great Alabaster Sphinx, and numerous ruins. Memphis was the power center of the Old Kingdom (2686 BC) of Ancient Egypt and home to the pharaohs who built the pyramids.
• Mit Rahina Museum - Visit the special museum housing the famous statue of King Ramesses the Great from 1279 BC. This enormous limestone statue is in remarkable condition. Ramesses the Great ruled the Egyptian empire for approximately 67 years.
• The Sphinx of Memphis - The Sphinx of Memphis is a stone sphinx located near the remains of Memphis, Egypt. Made from Egyptian Alabaster, it remains in excellent condition and may represent the renowned Queen Hatshepsut from 1479 BC.
