Pyramids of Giza - A representative will collect the operator from their hotel in Hurghada or Gouna in a private, air-conditioned modern vehicle for a flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, an Egyptologist guide will accompany the operator to explore the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. The tour continues with a visit to the Great Sphinx, featuring the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion, dating back to the era of Chephren. The itinerary also includes a visit to the Valley Temple, associated with the Pyramid of Chephren. Enjoy a delightful lunch at a local restaurant before proceeding to the Step Pyramids of Zoser, the world’s oldest major stone structure, built during the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 BC) for King Djoser.
Afterward, transfer to the hotel in Cairo for an overnight stay.
Great Sphinx - The Great Sphinx of Giza, often called the Sphinx of Giza or simply the Sphinx, is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a human head. It faces directly from West to East and is located on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. The Sphinx’s face is generally believed to represent the pharaoh Khafre.
Carved from the bedrock, the original form of the Sphinx has been restored with layers of blocks. It measures 73 meters (240 feet) in length from paw to tail, 20 meters (66 feet) in height from the base to the top of the head, and 19 meters (62 feet) in width at its rear haunches. It is the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt and is widely believed to have been constructed by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during the reign of the pharaoh Khafre (c. 2558–2532 BC).
Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site remains unexcavated.
Pyramid of Menkaure - Menkaure’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple.
Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex comprises a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, with several discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860.
