- Giza Pyramids - The guide will collect travelers from their Cairo or Giza hotel or the airport. They will then visit the Giza pyramids, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. All three of Giza’s renowned pyramids and their intricate burial complexes were constructed during a bustling period from approximately 2550 to 2490 B.C. These pyramids were built by Pharaohs Khufu (the tallest), Khafre (in the background), and Menkaure (at the front).
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The Great Pyramid of Cheops, also known as Khufu, is situated on the Giza plateau and is recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, still standing today and frequently visited by travelers. It is the first pyramid visible when approaching from El-Ahram Street, as most visitors do.
This architectural marvel was completed around 2560 BC, originally standing over 145 meters tall (now reduced to 138 meters due to the removal of external elements). Taller than any structure built before the industrial era, it is a testament to advanced mathematics and engineering, constructed using sophisticated geometric knowledge and techniques.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s Pyramid is the second-largest pyramid in Egypt, only about 10 meters shorter than the Great Pyramid. It is distinctive because the original cladding remains intact on its upper section.
Khafre constructed his pyramid at Giza next to his father’s pyramid. Its complex is better preserved than others, partly due to an innovative construction method using massive limestone blocks encased in a thin layer of facing slabs. The entire complex served as a temple for the resurrected god-pharaoh after his burial.
- Menkaure Pyramid - The third major pyramid at Giza belongs to Menkaure. It is the smallest of the three, reaching a height of 65 meters (213 feet), yet the complex contains some of the most remarkable sculptures from all of Egyptian history.
- Great Sphinx - Visitors will also see the Sphinx and the temple where bodies were mummified. The Sphinx, a mythological creature with a lion’s body and a human head, is a significant symbol in Egyptian and Greek art and legend. Visitors can enjoy taking photos in various poses.
- Grand Egyptian Museum - At the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, travelers can explore over 100,000 artifacts, including treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb. The museum offers interactive exhibits and guided tours by Egyptologists, enhancing the understanding of ancient Egyptian history. Its impressive modern architecture provides breathtaking views of the pyramids, while cultural performances and workshops offer a deeper connection to contemporary Egyptian culture. Visitors can also enjoy a gift shop and cafés, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching experience. Afterward, travelers will return to their Cairo or Giza hotel or the airport.
