The tour continues to one of the world’s most iconic monuments: the Great Sphinx. Carved from a single limestone outcrop, this majestic guardian — with the body of a lion and the head of a king — has overseen the plateau for millennia. Here, visitors will uncover the legends, myths, and secrets surrounding this enigmatic figure.

Adjacent to the Sphinx lies the Valley Temple, a significant site in the funerary rituals of ancient Egypt. With its polished granite and limestone interior, this well-preserved temple reveals the sacred process of mummification and royal burial ceremonies.

• Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Saqqara is one of several other notable necropolis sites near Cairo that offer impressive sights and hold great archaeological significance. In fact, Saqqara may hold more interest to archaeologists than Giza. The vast site hosts burials dating from before the beginning of the Old Kingdom up through the Greek Period of Egyptian history.
  The most renowned structure at Saqqara is Djoser’s Step Pyramid. Dating from the 3rd dynasty (2667—2448 BC), it was the first all-stone complex ever built on earth. It also showcases an important architectural innovation for the construction of the Giza Pyramids and other later pyramids in the 4th dynasty and beyond.
  Djoser’s pyramid was the first to use multiple mastabas (rectangular tomb structures) stacked on top of one another to form a step pyramid. (Optional tickets are available for those who wish to enter the pyramid or some tombs.)
• Pyramids of Dahshour - Visit the Dahshur Pyramids, including the Red and Bent Pyramids, both belonging to Snefru, the Pharaoh of the 4th dynasty around 2600 BC. They are as ancient and grand as the Giza Pyramids. The Red Pyramid is the first (perfect) pyramid built in Egypt. The Bent Pyramid, with its unique shape, is found nowhere else except in Dahshur. Enjoy the desert landscapes around the area and capture more photos everywhere.
