• Pyramids of Giza - Your day begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. The first stop is the Giza plateau, where you’ll visit the Pyramids of Cheops “Khufu,” the last of the seven wonders of the ancient world still standing. Next, you’ll see the pyramids of Chephren, Mykerinus, and six queen pyramids. Then, you’ll head to the Valley Temple of Chefren and the Sphinx, which features a pharaoh’s head on a lion’s body, symbolizing the pharaoh’s mental and physical prowess.
• Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - The journey continues to the Sakkara necropolis, home to the world’s oldest major stone structure. Your guide will share the history of the famous Step Pyramid, designed by the engineer Imhotep for King Djoser during the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 BC). You’ll also visit the Necropolis of Sakkara, including the Mastabas of Ti and Prince Ptahotep.
• Pyramids of Dahshour - Next, you’ll travel to Dahshur to see the red pyramid and the bent pyramid, both constructed for Senefru, the first pharaoh of the 4th dynasty. These sites offer insight into the evolution of pyramid construction throughout history.
• Mit Rahina Museum - The final stop is Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. Here, you’ll find artifacts from many of Egypt’s great rulers, including the fallen statue of Ramses II. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit a traditional bazaar, see demonstrations of local artwork, and purchase souvenirs if you wish.
