Excellent tour, highly recommend!! - We did 2 tours with Mummies Tour company, first was the Cairo Egyptian Museum, the second one was the new Grand Egyptian Museum. The first tour was the Cairo Egyptian Museum, our excellent guide was Amr, and he was great in explaining the back story of the significant pieces in the museum. I highly suggest having a guide when you visit this museum to appreciate the artifacts and displays. We wouldn’t have understood the significance without Amr’s detailed explanations. Our second museum done at a different day was the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum, which has a soft opening. Access is hard to get, so Mummies Tour was great in obtaining the limited tickets to the new museum. Our guide was Sam, and he was also very good in explaining to us the efforts in building the new museum and the background on the contents on display. There’s not much on display yet, but the building itself was beautifully done, with the triangle/pyramid motif all around. The massive Ramses statue was very impressive at the middle of the museum.
