These were constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of ancient Egypt, around 2600 to 2500 BC. The site also includes several temples, cemeteries, and remnants of a workers’ village.
- Great Sphinx - The Great Sphinx of Giza is a limestone statue depicting a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with a human head and a lion’s body. Positioned facing west to east, it is located on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. The Sphinx’s face is believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre. Originally carved from the bedrock, it has been restored with layers of limestone blocks. It measures 73 meters (240 feet) in length from paw to tail, 20 meters (66 feet) in height from the base to the top of the head, and 19 meters (62 feet) in width at its rear haunches.
- Panoramic view of the Pyramids - At this stop, visitors can capture stunning photos of all the pyramids and enjoy a camel ride with a panoramic view of the entire pyramid complex.
- Papyrus Institute - The ancient Egyptians utilized the stem of the papyrus plant to create sails, cloth, mats, cords, and most notably, paper. Papyrus paper was the primary writing material in ancient Egypt, later adopted by the Greeks and widely used in the Roman Empire. Papyrus is a material akin to thick paper, used in ancient times as a writing surface, made from the pith of the papyrus plant, Cyperus papyrus, a wetland sedge.
- Giza - Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore a cotton store offering clothing and bedsheets made from 100% Egyptian cotton.
- Royal Perfumes And Oils - Aromatherapy involves the use of essential oils from plants for healing purposes. Despite the term “aroma” suggesting inhalation, these oils can also be applied to the skin or, in rare cases, ingested. Essential oils should never be taken orally without explicit guidance from a trained and qualified specialist.
