Giza Tour
Pyramids of Giza - The tour guide will collect guests from their hotel in a private minivan to visit the Giza Pyramids, which were constructed to last for eternity and have indeed done so. All three of Giza’s renowned pyramids and their intricate burial complexes were erected during a bustling construction period from approximately 2550 to 2490 B.C. These pyramids were built by Pharaohs Khufu (the tallest), Khafre (in the background), and Menkaure (at the front). These monumental tombs are remnants of Egypt’s Old Kingdom era, constructed around 4,500 years ago.
Egyptian pharaohs anticipated becoming deities in the afterlife. To prepare for the next world, they built temples for the gods and massive pyramid tombs for themselves, filled with everything each ruler would need to guide and sustain themselves in the afterlife.
Great Sphinx - The Great Sphinx is one of the world’s largest sculptures, measuring approximately 240 feet (73 meters) in length and 66 feet (20 meters) in height. It features a lion’s body and a human head adorned with a royal headdress. The statue was carved from a single piece of limestone, and pigment remnants suggest that the entire Great Sphinx was originally painted. It is estimated that it took about three years for 100 workers, using stone hammers and copper chisels, to complete the statue.
Memphis and Sakkara - Memphis was the first capital of Ancient Egypt. Most of the pyramids near Cairo, totaling well over 100, were built during this period when Memphis was the most significant city in Egypt and likely the world.
Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - The tour continues to Saqqara, a principal necropolis of the ancient city of Memphis, located about 17 km from the Giza Plateau. It was used from the 1st Dynasty until the Christian Period. Saqqara served as the official necropolis of Egypt’s main capital city, Memphis. The site’s name may be derived from the god Sokar or from an Arab tribe that once resided in the area.
Nile River - Guests will then enjoy a dinner cruise on the Nile River. They will experience a few hours of delightful Egyptian cuisine, captivating belly dancers, Tanura shows, enchanting music, a live band, and the refreshing breeze on the River Nile. Guests can take photos of the show and the stunning nightly view of the illuminated city of Cairo from the top deck. After the cruise, guests will be driven back to their hotel.
Fayoum Safari, Whales Valley & Wadi El Rayan Tour
Safari Arabs - Tunis Village - The quaint village of Tunis (‘izbat Tunis) is situated in the Fayoum oasis, en route to Wadi Rayan. Perched on a hill facing a large saltwater lake, the village offers a breathtaking view of the desert’s edge on the opposite side of the lake. It is one of the most picturesque locations in Egypt.
Wadi El-Rayan - Wadi El Rayan is one of Egypt’s most renowned nature reserves. Named after King El Rayan Ibn El Walid, who lived in the area with his army, the nature reserve is part of the El Fayoum governorate and is located about 75 km from El Fayoum city.
Valley of the Whales (Wadi Al-Hitan) - Wadi Al-Hitan, or Whale Valley, in Egypt’s Western Desert, contains invaluable fossil remains of the earliest, now extinct, suborder of whales, Archaeoceti. These fossils represent a major evolutionary story: the emergence of the whale as an ocean-going mammal from a previous life as a land-based animal. This site is the most important in the world for demonstrating this stage of evolution.
Fayoum Oasis - Known as the Fayoum, this is the only artificial oasis, created not by water springing from the ground but by a long canal naturally formed by the flooding Nile, dating back to Biblical times, called Joseph’s canal.
This canal stretches from the Nile to the great lake of Birket Qarun. This vast lake, which on a rough day resembles the sea, gives the Fayoum its unique character. The lake was once a major site for duck hunting, and the hotels on its southern shore hosted notable figures like Winston Churchill and King Farouk as they hunted flying birds. While some duck hunting still occurs, there is now more bird watching on this lake and the nearby Wadi Rayyan, another artificially created body of water.
