- Pyramids of Giza - The tour begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by a tour guide for a full-day excursion to the Giza Pyramids. Here, you will explore the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. The Giza Pyramid Complex, also known as the Giza Necropolis, is located on the Giza Plateau in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx of Giza. These were constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. The site also features several cemeteries and the remains of a workers’ village.
The location is on the edge of the Western Desert, approximately 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) west of the Nile River in Giza, and about 13 kilometers (8 miles) southwest of Cairo’s city center.
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site remains unexcavated. The valley temple was linked to a causeway, which was largely destroyed during the village’s construction.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex comprises a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, some of which were found in a well in the temple’s floor by Mariette in 1860. Additional statues were uncovered during subsequent excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
- Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also produced several statues of Menkaure.
- Great Sphinx of Giza - Visit the Sphinx, located near the Valley Temple. The Sphinx is the oldest and largest in Egypt, featuring a lion’s body and a human head, symbolizing power and intellect. The face of the Sphinx is a likeness of Khafre, who constructed the Middle Pyramid of Giza.
- The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, commonly known as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, is situated in Cairo, Egypt. It houses an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, with 120,000 items, a portion of which are on display, while the rest are stored. Built in 1901 by the Italian construction company Garozzo-Zaffarani, following a design by French architect Marcel Dourgnon, the museum is one of the largest in the region. As of March 2019, it is open to the public. In 2021, the museum is set to be replaced by the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza.
- Khan el-Khalili - Khan el-Khalili is a renowned bazaar and souq in Cairo’s historic center, Egypt. Established as a trade hub during the Mamluk era and named after one of its historic caravanserais, the bazaar district has become a major attraction for both tourists and Egyptians. It is also home to numerous Egyptian artisans and workshops producing traditional crafts and souvenirs.
The tour concludes with a drop-off at the customer’s hotel in Cairo.
