The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Continue to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, commonly known as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, which houses an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. It showcases the largest and most valuable items of Egyptian art in the world. The museum displays a rare collection of over 250,000 genuine artifacts dating back as far as 5000 years, including a special exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamun – a collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry that were buried in his tomb for over 3,500 years before being discovered in the 1920s. You can also enter the mummies room (extra ticket required).

Cairo Citadel, Coptic Cairo and Islamic Cairo

Coptic Cairo - Your Egyptologist guide will pick you up from your Cairo or Giza hotel on time. Travel to Old Cairo, also known as Christian Coptic Cairo, one of the most significant locations visited by the Holy Family, where their spiritual presence is still felt. The first stop is the Hanging Church, named for its location above a gatehouse of Babylon Fortress, one of the oldest churches in the world. Then, visit the Synagogue of Ben Ezra to learn more about the birth of Moses and Hebrew culture and tradition. Enter the Church of Abu Sergah (St. Sergious), located in the Fort of Babylon, a pilgrimage destination for Egyptians and Christians worldwide. You will also have the opportunity to visit St. Barbara Church.

Mosque of Amr Ibn Al-As - Next, continue the tour to Islamic Cairo, founded in 641 A.D. by the first Muslim leader Amr Ibn Elas. In Islamic Cairo, you can visit and enter several mosques, including the Amr Ibn Elas Mosque, the first mosque built in Egypt.

Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan - Enjoy a tour inside one of Egypt’s largest mosques, the Sultan Hassan Mosque.

Cairo Citadel - Proceed to the Citadel of Salah El Din, built on the famous Al Moqattam hill in Cairo for military purposes to protect the city from threats. It later became the residence of the Egyptian king for many centuries. Step inside the beautiful Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, constructed within the citadel in the 19th century. Capture special photos from the Citadel panorama. Note the historical event known as the “Massacre of the Citadel” that took place in 1811, where Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849), killed Mameluke leaders in the Qaser El Gawhara palace, which is currently not open to visitors.
