A Journey Through the Clouds

The allure of Kilimanjaro had been calling me for years, and the Lemosho Route promised a path less traveled, a chance to escape the crowds and immerse myself in the tranquility of nature. As a wildlife photographer, I have always been drawn to the raw beauty of Africa, and this trek was an opportunity to experience it in a new way. From the moment I arrived in Moshi, the Soraka Tour Team made me feel at home. Their attention to detail and commitment to our well-being was evident from the start. Our journey began at the Lemosho Gate, where we were greeted by the lush rainforest, a vibrant tapestry of greens that seemed to pulse with life. They anticipated our needs, ensuring we had enough water and providing hot water for washing up after a long day on the trail.

The waiter quickly learned our preferences, serving hot coffee or tea in our tents each morning, a small luxury that made a world of difference. The camp master, with his cheerful songs, added a touch of joy to our mornings, setting the tone for the day ahead.

Reaching New Heights

The climb to the summit was both a physical and emotional journey. The Barranco Wall, a formidable challenge, tested my resolve, but the encouragement from our guides and the sight of my daughter waiting for me at the top filled me with a sense of accomplishment. The motto “Non stop…..to the top” echoed in my mind as we pushed towards Gilman’s Point, each step a testament to our determination.

The view from the top was breathtaking, a panorama of clouds and peaks that seemed to stretch into infinity.
