Participants will learn the traditional art form using vibrant dyes and hot wax. All necessary materials to create your own unique batik are provided. The experience takes place in a relaxed yet comfortable studio within a family home compound, led by a master artist. Every stage of the process can be completed personally with expert guidance.

This Experience is Worth So Much More! - This experience will be your best! Come with your patience and artistic skills you will need them both! The gentlemen are family, so kind and professional, art is their way of life and they have so much joy helping others to appreciate their tradition, a quaint homestead with a shop, clean restroom, with snacks and cold beverages to keep you focused! Calm, focused and very enjoyable - I booked this workshop as a surprise for my mum and dad, who were visiting Bali with me. I wanted to choose something that felt traditional and creative, but also practical and immersive after having a few very busy days. This traditional batik workshop gave us the chance to learn a generations-old Indonesian art form step by step. We sketched a design, traced it in hot wax, and painted it with beautiful natural dyes. It was calm, focused and very enjoyable and was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

Batik Fun! - My sister and I took the class together and we had such a wonderful time. The teacher was so nice and helpful. He talked us through every step and lent hand when needed. Since it was an overcast day they brought our finished projects to our hotel the same evening.

Loved this batik class - It was great learning about this ancient and traditional fabric printing method. I learned a lot about how to use the wax and colors in making beautiful designs and create my own piece of art. As an art lover myself, I always wanted to try and learn new ways of making art. Enjoyed the experience and the instructor was very helpful in showing the process in few hours And you create your own unique piece..

Excellent batik session for staff and students - We came here as part of an organised trip, with 4 staff and 26 college students. Our experience was excellent with well explained instructions and incredibly helpful staff. Everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable morning and we made some beautiful batik paintings to take back to England with us. Highly recommend

Great activity - Great experience definitely will come again with the kids. This time I came with my husband for our honeymoon and it was really nice. They have a variety of drawings to choose from and they are very helpful to ensure to get a good finishing. Thank you!

Fantastic Family Fun! - Our second time doing batik here and kids are excited to return for a third time! None of us are creative or artistic but this is so much fun! The team is so supportive and helpful making this fantastic experience. Great cultural insight into the traditional art of Batik. We’re all thrilled with our creations!
Wonderful to watch local children learning other traditional art forms in the studio too. Such talent! We were thrilled to purchase incredible art directly from the artist. Highly recommend!

The best batik class - This was a really fun morning. We first picked out a pattern from a big stack, although drawing your own pattern is an option. Then the instructor patiently showed us what to do, let us try the technique out on a practice cloth, made suggestions, and helped us when needed. It was really enjoyable. No hurrying us along, just patience and encouragement. It helped that they had several samples on the wall so that you could see a variety of colors and techniques.
The colors fade a bit by the end of the process, so if you want intense color, don't be shy when painting it on.
There were a couple of accomplished artists present at the same time we students were working, and it was interesting to talk to them and watch them work.
The only reason I took off a star was due to some pressure to buy art made by students of the studio while the cloth was drying. Even so, I highly recommend the experience and would definitely do it again if my stay here were longer.
