• Samuel Simon Schmucker Artillery House - Notice the large brick house on the corner to your right? The one with the gray roof and white accents. This is the residence of Samuel Simon Schmucker, the founder of the seminary here in Gettysburg.
• Valentine Hall - As you walk past Valentine Hall, it serves as a striking reminder that the Battle of Gettysburg did NOT mark the end of the seminary. Why? Because this hall was constructed 25 years AFTER the battle!

Union and Confederate forces fiercely contested this strategic ridge and its makeshift hospital. This walking tour takes you back to July 1863, allowing you to experience the battlefield through the perspectives of the commanding generals, the soldiers fighting for survival, and the civilians caught in the conflict.
