Fantastic food in the streets of Genoa - Valentina was wonderful and should get a raise! Once you meet up under the Neptune Galleon ship, you walk around the narrow streets of Genoa and sample multiple Genoa classics. We had a great time on the excursion. I would highly recommend this to any foodies looking to sample authentic Genoa fare.

Incredible! - This was an excellent tour! We were in port for just a few hours and we couldn’t have had a better day! Our guide Valentina was amazing! She was full of energy and so knowledgeable about the culture, history and food of Genoa and the region. She introduced us to some of our favourite local foods and each dish was incredible! We loved spending the afternoon with her !! Thank you for an exceptional tour, Valentina!!!

100% recommended - Our guide, Serena, was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the city. She took us to several places to sample traditional local dishes such as fried mixed seafood, focaccia, cheese focaccia, pesto pasta, and gelato, while sharing the history of Genoa. We also added the drinks package, which allowed us to try local cocktails, wines, and beer. Our family truly enjoyed this experience thanks to Serena, who did an excellent job.

Great food, fascinating stories - Deborah gave us an amazing experience. He took us to corners and places we would never have discovered on our own. We were lucky enough to do the tour alone with her, and she knew how to read us instantly: she noticed that we love stories and shared a lot of stories and legends of Genoa as we toured the city trying different delights. The food was delicious. It was not a full lunch, but rather a selection of street food to go snacking, but the quality was excellent. (Of course: we are good eaters, maybe for other people it is more than enough.) In short, a great experience from start to finish. Grazie di cuore, Deborah!

Ok, But nothing special if you are a Foodie. - Let’s start with the fact that the tour guide was great. No issues there. If you know nothing about Italian food, the tour is okay. If you are a foodie, don’t bother. We had most of the food presented in the tour on our own after being there wandering around for a day. The places she took us (where she was told to go) were nothing special. As foodies, they were all just OK at best. None of the places I would have searched out on my own. The focaccia place was great. We went back there the next day, and they had all sorts of good baked goods besides focaccia. One of the “nicer sit-down places” for pasta had the cheapest you can buy stamped silverware. Details matter. Another was a run-of-the-mill, middle-of-the-road, corporate-run, get lunch at the office kind of place. Food was fine, but absolutely not special in any way. The gelato place at the end was middling at best. Definitely not a great representation of the genre. SO: Take the tour if you have limited time and just want to learn a little bit about Genoa food and don’t mind okay food. If you are a foodie and want interesting, high-quality food and search out the best places on your own. This is not the tour for you.

Disappointing, at best - This was not the best food tasting tour I've been on. I usually go to one in every city we visit. Very disappointed in the selection, quantity and overall experience. Serena did a good job, but it was very difficult to hear her speaking (it was rather windy). Basically fried food and focaccia...one place we stopped they were giving away free samples of panettone anyway. Extremely disappointed...AND when I was on Trip Advisor trying to get some information on our tour the price had DROPPED significantly. I would have canceled and rescheduled but our internet was spotty. Now I really wish I would have. Certainly not worth the price we paid. The instructions for the meet up location were vague at best. Even stopping and asking locals they had no idea of the location. The picture is the first place we stopped (and ironically, the best), My husband and I had eaten there the day before. The "Do Eat Better" threw me off....maybe my expectations were unrealistic....I was hoping for slightly more healthy food.
