Amazing experience great memories. Fab guide - Excellent experience via Swiss tours who we had used before. Picked up from hotel and guide was excellent very personable and knowledgeable. Friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Asked regularly if we were all ok on the drive there and was a genuinely lovely guy. Explained everything fully so we knew what to expect. Would highly recommend Swiss tours and this trip as it’s truly wonderful from start to finish. I think it’s good value and no stress at all and even though the weather wasn’t perfect for views we did get to see the Matterhorn from the viewing platform which fortunately reopened after we had looked around the glacier paradise. The glacier is amazing and I’m so glad we chose this trip.

Best tour guide - We did the tour the last day of the year, our guide (roger) was amazing! Gave us a lot of interesting info and made sure we had the best day possible. The tour in itself is very good as you dont have to worry about anything except food. So we could just enjoy our day

Great day trip! - Thoroughly enjoyed the long day out. Our guide (Aristotle) had everything running smoothly and whilst the views up the top weren't the best due to weather, they were made up by the effort he took in order to ensure we had the best day out with relevant facts and information as needed. Thank you very much!

Excellent Day Tour - We went on this tour in November and throughly enjoyed it. The day of the tour, the guide met us on time at the bus terminal - there was a total of 8 people on the tour, including one we picked up in Montreux along the way. The total drive time to Zermatt was about 3.5 hours, including a stop along the way at a roadside center with bathrooms and food options. The tour transfers between vehicles several times before arrival due to various license requirements and vehicle limitations in Zermatt. Just outside Zermatt, our tour bus met a taxi bus, which drove us to the outside of the town, where a small electric vehicle met us and brought us to the base of the cable car lifts. The group then separated from there, with those who didn’t pay for the cable car leaving to walk around the town the rest of the day. Ultimately, I think it would be a mistake not to do the cable cars, which was the highlight of the entire trip. It was a fascinating experience that brings up the mountain with stellar views and various food and bathroom options along the way. Of note, the guide did not join on the cable cart part, so you’re on your own - but you do get a map and other informational materials, which was sufficient for our purposes. Just make sure to dress warm - even during the day in November, it was -20 C. We spent about 3 hours up there, including 30 minutes travel each way. That left about 2 hours to explore the town, including a stop for lunch, which we felt was more than enough time. The town is not that big, so I honestly don’t know what others in the group who didn’t do the cable cars managed to occupy their time with for the 5 hours we had available to us there. We were asked to meet back at the taxi location by a specified time, which everyone in the group did. We were then on our way back by shortly after 4PM - after getting back to the tour bus and being slightly delayed due to traffic outside Geneva, we got back to the starting point at the bus station by about 8PM. All in all, we were pleased with the tour, including the guide/driver - he was pleasant, informative, and ran everything efficiently. The tour bus was also new and clean, including USB charging ports. Would highly recommend tour to others considering something further out than most of the available tours from Geneva - it’s definitely a lot of driving, but the opportunity to be at the top of the mountain in Zermatt was worth every minute of the travel and you do get about 5 hours in the town to spend as you please.

Wonderful day in Zermatt! - Wonderful excursion! David was our driver to Zermatt, he explained how to take the cable car up the mountain and where to meet the bus at the end of the day. He doesn’t actually take you up there, you are on your own. Views from the top were amazing! The village of Zermatt is picturesque and fun to walk around in. We had fondue at du Pont restaurant and it was delicious! The bus ride is long, but worth it. David did stop so we could use the restroom.

Poor Viator action - We don’t know. The company said the tour was on a certain date. Then they changed the date. What was on my booking sheet from Viator was one day after the tour to place and we had the wrong day on our voucher When we arrived, we were told that they looked for us the day previous. I’m going to notify my credit card company on this problem and will request a refund. The worst part was during the day we were asked how the tour is going.

Bait and Switch - Beware, this is a bait and switch. The itinerary statutes you get entrance to the glacier paradise but you don't. Viator reps were not helpful at all. The tour company charged us an additional $340 for the glacier paradise. Don't get this through Viator, go directly through a tour company and save yourself money and headache. Essentially it was a $440 bus ride. You can take the scenic train for less than that. We got no information on the bus ride either. We did absolutely love the village and the ride on the ski lift to Glacier paradise and the ice cave. I don't think it was worth $800. I chatted with the viator rep who said the glacier paradise was included, then it changed when I asked for a refund. She gave me an email address to send the receipts to but no one ever responded. I won't use Viator ever again. LESSON LEARNED!
