This monument, designed by architect Raphael Israyelian, was constructed in 1957. The site provides a breathtaking panorama of Mount Ararat. The arch features inscriptions from one of Armenia’s most celebrated poets, Yeghisheh Charents (1897-1937), and is affectionately known by locals as Charents.

This medieval complex is nestled in a landscape of remarkable natural beauty at the entrance to the Azat Valley. The northern side is bordered by high cliffs, while a defensive wall encloses the remainder of the complex.

100% recommended - Mr. Aram has justified the title “Guide” in every aspects. He was very quick and crisp with responses on our queries which helped us during our stay. The driver Mr. Armen is a gem, who explains the history the ride and was so sharp on time. If you’re looking for a customized, yet affordable tours, Gira is the option you shouldn’t miss.
