Monastery Sevanavank - Located on a peninsula at Lake Sevan’s northwestern shore in Gegharkunik Province, Armenia, Sevanavank was initially built on a small island’s southern shore. After Lake Sevan’s artificial draining during Joseph Stalin’s era, the water level dropped about 20 meters, transforming the island into a peninsula. The southern shore now hosts a guesthouse of the Writers Union of Armenia, while the eastern shore is home to the Armenian president’s summer residence. The monastery’s active seminary moved to new buildings on the peninsula’s northern shore.
Haghartsin Monastery - This medieval monastery near Dilijan in Tavush Province, Armenia, was built between the 10th and 13th centuries. It comprises three churches: St. Gregory’s (the oldest), St. Stephen’s, and St. Astvatsatsin (St. Mary’s, the largest), along with a gavit and a refectory.
Dilijan - Dilijan (Armenian: Դիլիջան) is a spa town and urban municipal community in Tavush Province, Armenia. As one of Armenia’s most important resorts, it is located within Dilijan National Park. The forested town is home to many Armenian artists, composers, and filmmakers and showcases traditional Armenian architecture.

Saghmosavank Monastery - This 13th-century Armenian monastic complex is located in Saghmosavan village, Aragatsotn Province, Armenia. Like the nearby Hovhannavank monastery, Saghmosavank sits atop the Kasagh river’s gorge, with silhouettes dominating the adjacent villages and rising sharply against the mountains crowned by Mount Aragats.
Kasagh River - Flowing north to south, the Kasagh River is in west-central Armenia. It originates near Mount Aragats in Aragatsotn province and flows south into Armavir province, joining the Metsamor, a tributary of the Aras.
Armenian Alphabet Monument - Situated on Mount Aragats’s eastern slope in Artashavan, the Armenian Alphabet Monument celebrates the Armenian language’s enduring legacy and cultural significance. Designed by architect J. Torosyan in 2005, the monument marks the 1600th anniversary of the Armenian alphabet, created by Mesrop Mashtots in 405 AD to make the Bible accessible and strengthen Armenian national identity.
Amberd Fortress - Amberd is a 10th-century fortress located 2,300 meters (7,500 ft) above sea level on Mount Aragats’s slopes at the Arkashen and Amberd rivers’ confluence in Aragatsotn, Armenia. The name means “fortress in the clouds” in Armenian. It is also mistakenly attributed to Vahramashen Church, the 11th-century Armenian church near the castle. The village of Byurakan is 6.4 kilometers (4.0 mi) from Amberd.
Kari Lake - Lake Kari (Armenian: Քարի լիճ, romanized: K’ari lich, lit. ’Rock/Mountain Lake’) is a freshwater lake on Mount Aragats’s slopes in Armenia. Located 3,185 m above sea level, it has a perimeter of 1,150 m, a depth of up to 8 m, a volume of 375,000 m2, and a surface area of 0.12 km2. Formed in a u-shaped valley enclosed by moraines, the lake’s water is clear and cold, mainly from precipitation, and it remains frozen for 8–9 months a year.

Cascade Complex - The Cascade is a building complex in Yerevan, Armenia, featuring terraced gardens connected by extensive staircases and the Cafesjian Museum of Art. Initially planned in the 1920s, construction began in the 1980s but was halted several times until 2002. Part of the complex, including the museum and a sculpture garden, was completed in 2009, with ongoing work to reconstruct and expand it.

Victory Park and Statue of Mother Armenia - The park’s construction began in the late 1930s as the “Arabkir city park,” part of the Nor Arabkir neighborhood’s development in northern Yerevan, the capital of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. After the Great Patriotic War, it was renamed “Victory Park” to commemorate the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany on the Eastern Front of World War II.
Echmiadzin Monastery - Etchmiadzin Cathedral is the mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church, located in the city known as both Etchmiadzin and Vagharshapat, Armenia. It is often considered the first cathedral built in ancient Armenia and is regarded as the world’s oldest cathedral.
Zvartnots Temple - Zvartnots Cathedral, sometimes referred to as Zuart’nots’ or Zuart’noc’, meaning ‘place of resurrection/lifefulness/joyfulness,’ is a medieval Armenian cathedral near Vagharshapat (Ejmiatsin), Armenia. Built in the seventh century and now in ruins, Zvartnots was noted for its circular exterior structure, unique in medieval Armenian architecture, and interior piers supporting a multi-floor structure topped with a dome.
