Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Known as “The Lion’s Rock,” this 8th World Wonder is located in the Central plains and was selected by King Kasyapa in the 5th century AD as his stronghold. Rising over 200 meters, this iconic rock dominates the landscape. The King reigned for 18 years from this fortress, which is a vibrant part of the island’s history. It is an engineering marvel, with wall murals and lion’s paws that are artistic and architectural wonders. The view from the top is breathtaking, and the palace and gardens on the summit, along with the surrounding landscape design, are unparalleled. Golden Temple of Dambulla - The Golden Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is situated in the central plains of Sri Lanka within the cultural triangle. Its history dates back to the 3rd to 7th centuries BC, with new evidence suggesting even older habitation. The magnificent rock cave temple complexes are well-preserved and awe-inspiring. The rock rises 160 meters above the plains, with over 80 documented caves in the area. Major attractions are spread across five caves, featuring statues and paintings related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings, and four statues of gods and goddesses, including Vishnu and Ganesha. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square meters (23,000 sq ft), depicting scenes such as the temptation by the demon Mara and Buddha’s first sermon.

Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - The Cultural Dance Show is an exhilarating display of Sri Lankan arts, dance, and cultural heritage, a must-see for visitors to the historic city of Kandy. Established in 1982, the Kandy Lake Club Dance brings together all Sri Lankan dance styles on one platform. It is the first cultural dance show of its kind in Sri Lanka and has become a popular attraction for tourists interested in the country’s rich cultural heritage. It has been performed continuously for the past 35 years.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Sri Dalada Maligawa, or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy and houses the relic of Lord Buddha’s tooth.

Royal Botanical Gardens - The Peradeniya Botanic Gardens, located near Kandy, Sri Lanka, are renowned for their diverse collections of tropical woody plants. Spanning 59 hectares (146 acres), the gardens feature approximately 4,000 plant species. Notable specimens include palms, some of which are planted in impressive avenues, as well as collections of orchids, gymnosperms, and flowering trees. Founded in 1821 to introduce coffee trees and other economically important tropical plants, the gardens shifted to a botanical focus in the 1840s. Under the leadership of botanist George H.K. Thwaites, the gardens played a crucial role in establishing the country’s thriving tea industry in the late 1870s.

Kadugannawa Tea Factory & Sales Center - A visit to a Sri Lankan tea factory offers the opportunity to see, smell, taste, and touch tea at every stage of production, providing insight into why certain teas have their distinct flavors. Most tours conclude with a tasting session of the various teas grown at the plantation. A factory visit typically lasts about 30 minutes and offers a great chance to purchase high-quality Sri Lankan tea at very reasonable prices.
