We are dedicated to responsible dolphin and whale watching, advocating for wildlife respect, collecting any litter found at sea, and reducing the use of single-use plastics whenever possible.
To ensure a prompt departure, please arrive at our office in Funchal Marina 30 minutes before your scheduled departure, where you can exchange your ticket for a boarding card. Please be aware that missing the boat will result in the forfeiture of your right to a refund.

Excellent trip for dolphin and whale spotting - We booked the morning trip, the catamaran is big with comfortable shaded benches. And nets above the waves to sit/lay on. Crew is very helpful. We saw a lot of dolphins around the boat after 30 minutes. The crew gives clear information about the species and circle around so everyone gets a good view.
Another 30 minutes later we saw some whales. Again good information and plenty of time to watch them swim near the boat. Drinks onboard are reasonably priced.
Smooth and sunny trip back to the harbour.

Great experience - It was a great start but I was sea sick however kids enjoyed watching the dolphins and whales. It was good long 3 hours trip.

Need another layer of... - Need another layer of clothing as it is a bit colder out at sea(February)
Brilliant trip . Saw 2 different families of pilot whales . Also a shark was seen.

Amazing staff, animals and views - The staff were the best! They were so kind and informative and friendly, this made it a great start. Good value for money too
We got super lucky and we saw whales, dolphins and striped dolphins. It was a great day and lots of fun with gorgeous views too

Best Whale Watch Company! - I’ve travelled the world, working on cetacean research vessels and going whale watching every chance I get. And I can confidently say that Sea Born is by far one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. We travelled to Madeira last year and went on several trips during our stay, and loved it so much we went back this year. The team are absolutely incredible; so friendly, passionate and knowledgable. They made me feel like family and did everything they could to make each trip so memorable.
We witnessed some remarkable wildlife encounters; from large groups of pilot whales (mother and calves included), pods of playful bottlenose dolphins, and common dolphin too. The crew are very respectful of the wildlife, following the strict safety/time protocols and keeping a safe distance from the animals. The crew even collect rubbish from the ocean that we passed, which was amazing to see.
Couldn’t recommend this company enough - you’ll have the most sensational time!🐬🩵

Fully recommend. This trip. - Great way to see whales and dolphins in Madeira. We saw a pilot whale and a group of dolphins. The crew took pictures were excellent.

Wonderful trip! - We had a wonderful morning dolphin and whale watching trip on the Seaborn catamaran, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The cruise itself was beautiful and very successful – we were lucky enough to see several species of cetaceans multiple times, and at one point one of them even swam alongside us.
The crew was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable, sharing interesting details about the animals and their lives throughout the trip. What I especially appreciated was the spacious net area, where it was possible to relax comfortably, even with children. Another big plus was that the boat was not overcrowded, unlike some other highly rated companies where people are packed tightly together. We had plenty of space, a relaxed atmosphere and still saw exactly the same amazing wildlife.
I highly recommend this company for a beautiful cruise combined with professional and caring service.

Nice trip - It's a nice trip with the catamaran. You can sit on the net and see the dolphins swimming with the boat.
The return journey is very long. You sail along the coast, which is nice, but after the dolphins straight back to port is also an option.
