Great day! - Spent the day touring about with Henrique. He travelled us up to Pico so Arieiro to hike to Stairway to Heaven, bumbled about some dirt roads, some waterfalls and a great lunch. He hit everything we wanted. Thank you!

Madeira with an insider - What a great day with Fabio. We loved that we got to see things that would have been hard to find on our own or even with other tour companies. He timed stops to avoid crowds and lots of variety with the stops. He was very knowledgeable. We had a great lunch stop as well as a stop at an authentic poncha bar. We felt safe and well cared for the whole day. Thanks again Hit the Road Madeira and Fabio.

Full day in Madeira - Our guide was amazing. Dinarte. He took us everywhere we wanted to go and then some special places. So knowledgeable, friendly and fun. Highly recommend.

Fabulous Fabio hits the road - We spent 2 full days exploring Madeira with our fabulous guide, Fabio. We learned so much about the people and geography of Madeira. Fabio was able to usher us to many of the iconic spots but also avoid the crowds. There were many spots we could get out of the jeep and explore on our own. Fabio also took us to a very local tavern to get the best Poncha in Madeira. We also were able to sample some special herbal licquors at the same hidden local. Fabio was upbeat and an obvious lover of the island he grew up in. Our 2 days were a highlight. If you are traveling to Madeira grab a tour with Hit The Road and look for owners Jeff's Madeira advice videos. Fabio was fabulous. A can't miss experience.

Top class tour!!! - Went on a full day tour with the family and had a great time! Tiago was our guide and did a stellar job. His deep understanding on the nature and agriculture of Madeira, history of the island and its culture provided a lot of colour to the tour. Furthermore Tiago took us to a great restaurant in the country where we most likely had the best Espetada on our trip as well as introducing us to bar (with amazing view) where we could try different Poncha with the locals. Would highly recommend booking a tour with Hit The Road Madeira! If Tiago is your guide your in for a great day!

Madeira - up close and personal - Tiago was our guide and we had such an incredible day. Besides knowing EVERYTHING about the Island and the culture he knew so much about the flora and fauna. So many details. So much information. We saw everything that we wanted to see. Took us to a great restaurant for a delicious lunch! At the end of the day we stopped for Puncha. Thank you Tiago for a perfect day filled with beauty.

Great overview of the East of the island South to North - Had a fantastic day driven around in a very comfortable old discovery. Despite not being able to see the sunrise as planned as the clouds were too dense, Vitor gave us a great overview of the Island with beautiful views, hidden waterfalls and exciting off-road forest paths. We loved our levada trek and the visit to an A line house.

Great Day, Great Guide, Great Company - We’ve lost count of the number of times that Hugo has been our driver/tour guide with Hit The Road Madeira, it must be into double figures by now. Each time it’s a great experience with Hugo not only managing to take us away from the rest of the tourists and taking us to places we’d never seen before, but somehow he manages to remember where we have been and so we avoid seeing the same place twice. But this time he excelled himself, we normally book a private tour for the both of us, but this time we took my parents along who are both in their eighties and Hugo managed to design the tour around them ensuring we could se all the sights from the car and not having to walk took far. He also managed to keep us all entertained with his stories and history of Madeira, not just the stuff you can get from reading a tour book, but the kind of information that only a local would know. So thank you once again Hugo and see you in a couple of months for out next private tour with Hit The Road Madeira.

A very positive review of Hot the Road Tours - We had a great private tour with Vitor. He was very engaging and knowledgeable and took us to see and experience wonderful places in the North and East of Madeira, while largely keeping us away from crowds. Vitor's English was excellent, his communications with us were great and he was very accommodating to our requests. We think he went above and beyond!

Amazing two days touring with Hugo! - We are two couples that booked private tours on two days. Hugo was our guide both days and was knowledgeable and energetic. He took us places that we would never have found on our own and constantly checked weather to determine the optimal route. Highly recommend!
