Exceptional Guided Tours - I traveled with friends to Madeira in October and went on both the East and West private guided jeep tours with Richardo. The following week my husband arrived and we went on the East private jeep tour and Joäo was our guide. Hands-down these were some of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, Nature Connection Tours exceeded our expectations—professional, organized, and clearly passionate about what they do.
Both Richardo & Joäo were absolutely exceptional. Their knowledge of the island went far beyond the usual tour facts—they shared history, geography, local culture, hidden viewpoints, and even stories you’d only know from a lifetime of living there. Every question we asked was met with thoughtful, detailed answers, and you could tell they genuinely loved teaching others about Madeira.
The jeep allowed us to access places we never could have reached on our own—waterfalls, lush valleys, off-road paths, and breathtaking panoramas that felt like they were straight out of a postcard. We also hiked up to Pico Ruivo which was definitely a highlight of the East trip.
What stood out most was the authenticity and care. This wasn’t just a tour—it felt like exploring the island with a trusted local friend who wanted you to experience the very best of their home. The team clearly prioritizes meaningful experiences over generic sightseeing, and it shows.
If you want adventure, jaw-dropping views, and truly knowledgeable guides who make the island come alive, this is the company to book. We left with unforgettable memories and a much deeper appreciation for Madeira. Highly, highly recommended! We will be back and we look forward to seeing Richardo and Joäo again!

Perfect day in North East Madeira! - Thank you Ricardo for an incredible day touring North East Madeira! You really brought to life the history and all that makes your island a most special and magical place. Your driving skills on all the back roads to give us a feel for Madeira as it was before being developed was great and your 4x4 was so comfortable! Too many beautiful stops to mention but it was a day filled with so many memorable moments. Took so many photos and the beauty will be with us forever! Thanks again for such a fantastic day.

Great views and a great experience - Took the 4x4 tour with Joao and had a lovely day. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Itinerary changed on account of bad weather but we still had an amazing experience with some extra stops along the way that made the changes all the worth it. Would definitely recommend to any couples thinking of going on a 4x4 tour. Worth it for the views alone.

FANTASTIC FAMILY DAY OUT - Our second trip in two years with Ricardo, my husband and I enjoyed last year’s tour so much we didn’t hesitate to book again this year. A family of 5 adults this time, in the open top Land Rover- a real treat; we learnt so much about Madiera’s history and culture, the views were incredible and the experience unforgetable.

Great day out - Great day out exploring the east of the island - kept to schedule and promised stops (which some tours don’t do!), great tour guide (sorry can’t remember his name but not the boss!) definitely recommend

100% recommend this company, tour & the guide - I booked this after a fair amount of research and after reading other reviews of the company.
We had the most enjoyable day , I’d highly recommend it and the driver Joao .
He was very knowledgeable , informative , chatty, fun & very capable.
The off roading part was great fun.
We saw the best views learnt lots about the island and saw many little hidden gems we would not have seen unless they were pointed out by our guide.
Including a couple of falcons.
Just an idea we all had after we wanted to share with the company…..There are lots of tours available and to make them stand out even more than they already do , we thought it would be a great idea at an extra cost to include a typical Portuguese lunch in a remote little village or weather permitting at one of the bbq areas maybe. ?
We did stop at Santana for a lunch break , the restaurants were ok but it was a bit of a tourist trap , Nice to see the houses however.

Best way to see Madeira - Ricardo was so knowledgeable, pleasant and capable. We learned so much and enjoyed every minute. We saw so much of the east side of the island and did a lot of off-roading in the Land Rover, that we could not have done on our own. I would do another one of their tours in a minute.

Great way to see the island - We had a great trip with João, who was a knowledgeable, witty and engaging guide. It was a great way to see the island, including some places we would otherwise have missed, and some amazing views. The off-roading was good fun. Unfortunately the day started out wet and cloudy so we didn't fancy the levada walk but João adapted the itinerary to suit the weather and took us somewhere different instead. Highly recommend.

Great day out. - Juan has so much knowledge that he shares throughout the trip. He was friendly and courteous throughout. I would highly recommend using this company for your jeep experience. A great day out full of new experiences and a real insight to Madeira.
