Additional Information

Journey to Eira do Serrado, home to one of the most unique and stunning vistas, establishing itself as a highly valued ‘green’ area in Madeira.

The trip to the Nuns Valley (Curral da Freiras) village will take about 20 minutes, during which visitors will bask in the rural scenery, forest undergrowth intertwined with areas inhabited by charming traditional Madeiran houses. The village’s isolation is evident, with residents largely depending on their agricultural produce. The locally grown chestnuts are delightful and a staple in daily cuisine.

Upon your return, take a halt at the striking fishing hamlet of Câmara de Lobos. This is where Winston Churchill painted his beautiful landscapes, and where you can taste the famous local concoction, Poncha.

Very enjoyable tour - We had a great time on the Nun’s Valley tour with our driver Bruno. Just the right amount of time at each of the three stops: Fishing Village, Nun’s Valley viewpoint (top of mountain), and then Nun’s valley itself. Super commentary throughout in different languages, safe and efficient driving of the minibus. Only downside was that on a sunny day there seemed to be a serious lack of air conditioning in the minibus. The temperature inside was uncomfortably hot (no windows to open) and on the winding roads up/down the valley the majority of us were feeling very travel sick by the end.

Nice vistas! - The miradors were outstanding. The fishing village was also interesting although fast becoming too built up.
