Fun and friendly - Jose was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable. Always clear with what and where we were going. Jovial and friendly. Even though the weather was inclement during the high off-roading forest trek, it was still worth the adventure. And always fun watching 5 tour guides trying to change a flat tyre ;)

Definitely an experience with amazing variety. - Antonio was the perfect guide for us; we booked the Northwest tour in German and were not disappointed! He shared a lot of information and perfectly accompanied us throughout the day. The off-road route definitely lived up to its name and was cool. Of course, there wasn't endless free time at the stops, or a small entrance fee had to be paid (about €3 per person). But there was enough time to marvel, swim, have lunch, enjoy, or engage in small talk with Antonio.
An amazing experience, absolutely recommended to experience the maximum variety of Madeira in one day.

Fantastic! I recommend - Our guide/driver was fantastic. Knowledgable, friendly and keen to give us the most out of our experience. Pack for all weather conditions and bring lots of water!
Only negative thing to note is the car did break down at the end of the trip and the company arranged to have us picked up.
This experience was the highlight of the trip and such a great way to see Madeira and avoid driving around the tight and steep roads.

Brilliant family day - Diego was our driver and we had such a good experience,with all information covered,advising where to eat and see,had so much fun standing in a jeep and having chance to make amazing videos and pictures (not on the road,just when we went off road)

Great experience…but beware…not all vehicles are up to scratch… - Fabulous day out seeing some beautiful sights - this was a last minute replacement operator/trip after being let down by our first choice booking - we were very pleased to find 3 spaces to see a little more of the island. Loved the 4x4 experience ….in general. Driver was great and drove extremely well and safely throughout, although hard to hear what little commentary there was in the back.
However….we were in vehicle number 2….beware! In our opinion, this vehicle needs some serious attention. We appreciate these vehicles get an absolute battering, but the back door opened twice whilst going up steep hillsides….aghhh! The back step was missing, seat belts were variously broken or defective and the padding and handles in the back are not sufficient to prevent serious head injuries on the roof bars whilst off road. We didn’t see much going up hill as we were leaning forward grabbing under the seat and person in front to avoid being thrown backwards and fracturing our skulls on the metal cage bars. None of the dashboard dials were working either…not one!?? Bonkers. We still loved the trip, but check out the vehicle before you sign up…especially for the risk averse squashed in the back!

Bad driving style - Our driver (forgot the name) drove very wild. It was like a formula 1 coureur.
I really got sick and almost quite the tour. I asked him to drive slower, which he did, but in the end it got wild again and I had to ask it again. He said he forgot.
Also he could not find the way to one of the hotels and after a while he said he had no data at his phone to put on gps. So I used mine to show him the way, which is totally ridiculous ofcourse.
Also he kept saying how old his car was (28 years) and that he could not do all reparations because there are too many cars in the company to take care of.
That made me not feel safe, especially not with his driving style.
The cars are not really comfortable at all. If you are a bit older (Which I am not!) and want a comfortable drive…. Don’t go with this! You are in the car a big part of your day.

Disappointing Trip and Quality of vehicle. - Vehicle in very poor condition. Seats were loose with missing bolts (Front and back). Rear passenger door faulty to the point the driver didn't know if he could fix it. Seat belts were very poor with not retracting properly. (Again as seen in the photo)Minimal off road time. One very short stretch up an old cobbled road. Commentary was disappointing. Wont be using again. Had an amazing trip last year with one of their competitors. The company response. The vehicle had passed our equivalent of an MOT. That is only valid on the day it is done. The vehicle should be checked regularly. Very disappointed by trip and company response. Driver said the vehicle was very old with a very high mileage. Nothing like what they display in their advertising. Checked with Travel agent we booked through who was very helpful and she agreed that a lot of the off road had been missed out possibly as we were picking an additional passenger up some distance away. As always the pictures will speak a 1,000 words. Company did not respond to anything about my actual disappointment with the trip.
