There’s a chance to sample Poncha or another local alcoholic beverage in Câmara de Lobos and Serra de Água. The tour concludes with a return via the freeway.

Fantastic experience from beginning to end. - We were picked up from our hotel in Canico by Miguel in his beautifully restored Volkswagen Beetle convertible.
Miguel is a lovely guy with so much knowledge of his stunning island.( He also has an amazing knowledge of Volkswagens!)
The tour took us through the back streets of Funchal where Miguel explained the history of the place and its architecture.
We saw so much of this beautiful island that it’s difficult to put it into words.From incredible mountains to waterfalls and the glass platform that you can walk on!
All we can say is do it.
It’s also worth doing for all the people waving at you, and of course the Poncha!

Delightful afternoon tour! - We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tour. Our driver/guide (Miguel) was excellent - a very safe driver, he shared interesting information without any “lecturing” and was very happy to chat and answer questions. The balance between the amount of time spent driving and walking was perfect. An open-topped VW Beetle is perfect for seeing the sights. Very highly recommended.

A VW tour of Madeira - Such a lovely trip , which brought back many memories of our own vw. We saw many beautiful sites of Madeira , Michael (apology for spelling) was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble . We would highly recommend the day

Brilliant afternoon drive. - Fantastic tour from our hotel in a Convertible Beetle with Miguel. A very friendly, relaxed and informative trip taking in a fishing village, cliff platform, plenty of stops for views and a few bars.

Great tour with Miguel - The ride with Miguel and his VW Beetle convertible was a lot of fun for us. Miguel explained a lot to us and drove with us from Funchal to Camara de Lobos. Graduation was then at the Poncha bar of Serra de Agua before returning to the hotel. We can only recommend the tour

Great experience - Lovely half day drive with a friendly, knowledgeable driver. My husband has some mobility problems but this trip was ideal and the driver (I can’t remember his name) was very patient.

Comfortable & Wonderful Tour of Funchal, Madeira Island in Style with an Original VW Beetle Convertible!! - We truly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it! The only changes / improvements that we suggest are:
1. Find out the name of the ship, where they are docking and pick up Passengers as close as possible to the Pier.
2. Only stop for 1 Poncha Tasting (instead of 2)
3. Add enough time for a quick stop for Portuguese Tapas or a light Portuguese Lunch.
4. Add a quick stop to the Cristiano Ronaldo Museum (famous Professional Soccer Player born in Madeira).

A most enjoyable afternoon - I was collected from my hotel in Funchal on time by my companion for the afternoon, Rudolph, who runs this company. He has 2 classic VW cars and we went off in his immaculate 1970’s Beetle convertible. We were very fortunate as it was a beautiful afternoon and we were able to have the roof down for the whole time. Rudolpho is clearly a huge enthusiast and lovingly maintains the cars as well as being an interesting guide and good companion. He took me to various interesting places and viewpoints along the south coast as well as a couple of local bars to sample the local brews!!
I am a keen photographer so found lots of good subject matter. Rudolpho also made it clear that if you required something more bespoke he would be more than happy to work with you t

A thoroughly nice afternoon with a very nice person!
