The canyoning path at Ribeira das Cales spans 850 meters and usually takes around three and a half hours to finish. With a descent of 120 meters, it is classified as an easy route, making it ideal for newcomers to canyoning. The adventure starts near Pico do Areeiro, one of the archipelago’s highest peaks at 1818 meters, situated within the Funchal Ecological Park. Participants will tackle a series of rappels, the highest being 12 meters, and will encounter numerous natural pools filled with the area’s pristine waters.
This is a unique chance to explore the Funchal Ecological Park. Spanning roughly 10 km² in the mountainous region north of Madeira’s capital, this park offers a deeper dive into the island’s breathtaking natural scenery.
