We had a slow start; however, our tour guide made up for that. Although I was very disappointed that the website talks about viewing the inside of the Reynolds mansion, which is no longer available for anyone to view, our guide took us through the heart of the island and showed us things we never saw on previous tours. His knowledge of the island, as a retired DNR employee who spent many years on the island, along with his extensive knowledge of the Reynolds family history, Gualle indian history, and personal relationships with current and recently deceased residents of the island made this tour well worth taking. Bring a picnic and water. Enjoy the ride!

Jim is a great tour guide. He truly knows the island. The half day tour is not enough time to take in the island. Our only request is to have more history on the Gullah community.
