- Mount Aso - Situated in the northeastern region of Kumamoto Prefecture on Kyushu Island, Mount Aso is a renowned active volcano in Japan, featuring a globally rare caldera. It is among the few volcanic locations where visitors can closely observe an active volcano. From a nearby viewpoint, one can peer into the crater and witness the continuous white smoke, offering an awe-inspiring experience of nature’s power and breathtaking scenery during the visit.
- Kusasenrigahama - Asosan Kusasenri is an expansive grassland located at the northern base of Mount Eboshi. At the heart of this prairie lies a pond formed by rainwater. Cattle and horses roam freely across the grasslands, providing diverse scenic views throughout the year. Spanning an impressive 20,000 hectares, this vast green meadow invites leisurely strolls. Walking among the carefree cattle and horses while inhaling the fresh mountain air brings a sense of relaxation and rejuvenation, as if stepping into a paradise.
- Aso Roadside Station - Mount Aso is home to one of the world’s largest calderas and stunning outer rim mountains, offering views of the majestic Aso Gogaku (the five peaks of Aso). A variety of Aso specialty products are available, including seasonal vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy products, sweets, handmade bento boxes, and other locally exclusive items. As part of a collaboration between Kumamoto Prefecture and Eiichiro Oda, the manga artist behind “One Piece,” a statue of Usopp from the Straw Hat Pirates is also featured in the plaza of Aso Station.
