Amazing views without the crowds - Attary was very knowledgeable about the area and made sure to get us the best views of Mt Fuji. We got lucky with a clear day and lots of great photos. The best part was the speedboat ride on Lake Kawaguchiko! We enjoyed the locations that we visited and would recommend this tour to others.

Wonderful Mt Fuji Area Tour - We booked a 4-day private tour and our driver Sam is great. He really knows the area and gave us suggestions to customize our 4-day tour taking into consideration of the weather forecast to maximize our chances to see Mt Fuji at its most spectacular. He took us to the best spots to view Mt Fuji on the most clear days and saved the less weather sensitive activities for rainy days. He drives safely and always gives us clear instructions for how to meet him after we explore the site. Overall we are very satisfied with our tour.

We recently took this... - We recently took this private Day trip with Viator. With the trip confirmed we were assigned a “tour” guide, Mr. Attary. The night before the trip I was messaged by the guide who asked/stated we should start the tour/trip at 5:30-6:00 am. The trip was booked through Viator for 8 am. That was THEIR option for booking the trip. If that time does not work it should not be an option. We compromised with the guide for 7 am. Right from the beginning the guide/driver was driving very erratic, swerving in and out of traffic, Slamming the brakes, texting and driving, talking in the phone. Halfway through the drive there the driver said there was a rest area. We said no thank you we could skip it so we had more time. He asked if we could stop so he could get himself a coffee. Lo and behold we stopped for 10 minutes he never got a coffee because the line was too long. The first stop of the “itinerary” was Chureito Pagoda. The driver claimed he couldn’t drop us off near the entrance he had to drop us off down the road. We walked up the road went up the park. After being there for 45 minutes the driver text us “time to go next” we went down got back in the car. The next stop was supposed to be lyashi no sato. He took us somewhere different. Not thinking anything of it we just went along with it. At this stop it was a little town we walked around. Got back in the car after 40 minutes. He then took us to near the 3rd stop lake kawaguchiko. As we drove by he said it’s super busy right now would you like to go to lunch first then come back. The driver took us to a restaurant. Didn’t give us an option of what or anything. Already seems like a tourist trap. Walked us in and everyone knew him they sat us down. Opened the menu and the waitress came up and began talking and was trying to force us to buy a meal that cost 20,000 yen. That would only feed 2 people. We had 5. Mind you the driver was complaining that his rent costs 20,000 yen a MONTH. While he is forcing us to eat a restaurant that costs that per person almost. The food wasn’t good. The service wasn’t good. Just after we got our food the driver came in and said time to go next spot we need to head back to the city at 2pm. Found out the restaurant only accepts cash. We had about 20,000 yen total on us. He talked to us about this “speed boat ride” and then we talked more about it and told him no thank you we just want to go to the lakeside park. He didn’t answer. On the ride over we asked about the itinerary and if we would get to the rest of it like the ice cave. Or the lakeside park. He said oh no the 5 stop itinerary is too much would take 3 days and that he makes his own itinerary. I didn’t book this trip with a 5 stop itinerary to go on this guys own itinerary. Then to be taken to places and be ripped off where this guy is probably getting extra money for taking us there. The driver then proceeded to take us to the speed boat ride when we said we didn’t want to go. Which also was cash only as well. Again why we feel the driver is getting money from these places by taking us there. We confronted him about how we didn’t want to come here and we wanted to go to a park next to the lakeside with a view like the itinerary stated. He said oh no the park is too far and we said ok well we aren’t going on the speed boat ride. The driver got mad. He took us around the block to a park with a view of the mountain but the lake wasn’t part of the view. He then drove us back to our hotel. Where he pleaded if we didn’t give him a 5 star review he would loose his job. In an honest fair opinion. That is low. Long story short don’t book through this booking. It could’ve been the driver. Or the itinerary is setting the expectation higher than what is achievable. If 8 doesn’t work don’t have it as an option. If the 5 stops are not achievable don’t have all 5 on the itinerary. I was super disappointed in the trip. The driver just added to the dissatisfaction.

Worst tour experience - Attary was our driver. Showed up 30min late and did not arrive at our hotel. We had to walk 10 min to get picked up. Was not a tour and received no info about stops. Then was pressured to give a 5 star review before leaving the area to go back to the hotel. Messaged the company about the late arrival and got no response. Would not recommend
