• Mount Fuji - Experience stunning panoramic views of Mount Fuji at various locations throughout the day, along with many delightful surprises.
• Lake Ashinoko - Next, we will arrive at Lake Ashi, where we will visit several renowned Torii Gates (traditional Japanese gates typically found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine) and Shrines.
• Hakone Shrine - The Hakone Shrine is a Japanese Shinto shrine located on the shores of Lake Ashi. Established in 757, it features a Tori (red gate), multiple shrines and buildings, some souvenir shops, and a museum. It is one of the most picturesque shrines in the area, nestled in nature.
• Hakone Turnpike Daikanyama Parking lot - We will start the journey on one of the most scenic roads in the Fuji/Hakone region. The road offers numerous panoramas, and from the top observatory, there is a breathtaking view of the entire valley, Hakone, and Fuji. Even in rainy weather, the foggy and lush green surroundings create an incredible atmosphere.
• Lake Ashinoko Sky Line - After lunch, if time allows, we will travel along a second iconic road in the Fuji/Hakone region. This route provides an even closer view of Fuji, Lake Ashinoko, and even the sea! There are four stunning panoramas along the road, and we will stop at each one.
• The Hakone Open-Air Museum - After lunch and relaxation at the onsen, we will head to the open-air museum. It features collections of artworks by Picasso, Henry Moore, Taro Okamoto, Yasuo Mizui, Churyo Sato, Susumu Shingū, and many others, with over a thousand sculptures displayed within 70,000 square meters of lush garden. It is both captivating and soothing for adults and children alike.
• Pola Museum of Art - If the weather is unfavorable, or if time permits, or if you are interested in both, we will visit the Pola Museum, which is indoors. The museum is nestled in a forest of beech trees and hidden in the wooded mountains of Hakone. The award-winning modern architecture beautifully contrasts and harmonizes with the surrounding nature. The museum showcases a world-class collection of Western and Japanese paintings, ceramics, and cosmetic utensils, with a focus on impressionist paintings.
• Tenzan Tohji-kyo - After the highway journey, scenic road, shrine, and lake visit, it will be time to dine and, of course, relax. We will leisurely make our way to some of the most exquisite onsens that Kanto has to offer (several options available, depending on your mood and preferences). Here, we can enjoy local specialties, unwind in the thermal waters, and even indulge in a massage. Napping next to the water in the relaxation room is also possible and recommended.
