The Pozo Negro of Fuentes de Ayódar is a stunning natural pool located in the Sierra de Espadán. Also referred to as the Black Well or the “bottomless pool” due to its depth of approximately three meters, this bathing spot is adjacent to the Fuente del Zuro area. It has been naturally formed over time by the erosion caused by water impact, featuring very cold, clear, and pristine water. This natural pool is situated in the mountains of the Sierra de Espadán Natural Park, nestled amidst nature between Fuentes de Ayódar and Torralba del Pinar, just 2 kilometers from the former town. To reach it, one can enjoy a landscape filled with pines, cork oaks, holm oaks, and lush vegetation that harmoniously coexists with the reddish mountains, a distinctive hue of rodeno, a red sandstone.
