It is my first time attending, I had no idea this has been going on for a couple of years. I enjoyed the walk and the information provided. The peaches were amazing. I did not know that there was such a variety, it was a bit hot.
I had a great time trying all the fruits! I would have liked someone either next to the fruit talking about it, more tours, or the tour guides having loudspeakers so we could hear them. Also, perhaps another activity or two in addition to the tasting and tour (such as music, face paint, a craft, etc.).
Incredibly knowledgeable docents. Always a fun and educational time.
The docents walked so fast that I didn't have enough time to pick the fruit I wanted and I ended up losing the docent and wandering around to find another one.
We had an amazing time. The samples of fruit were wonderful and plentiful. The tour of the orchards was informative and the fruits we picked are so good we might be ruined for store bought. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the products(fruit). My grandmother didn't go on the orchard part of the tour (she's 90) instead opted to stay in the shade. While she was there Andy's chickens put in an appearance as well as a couple of peacocks. The entire group enjoyed themselves. We look forward to future events from Andy's.
We have been coming for summer fruit tastings for about 8 years now, and we simply love it. It has kind of become a family tradition. The orchard walks are great. There's nothing like picking fruit right from the tree. Andy and his crew are always wonderful and knowledgeable. Love it there and can't wait to go back next summer.
I was hoping for more peaches to pick, but mother nature hadn't prepared the right timing. First tours probably got the ones that were ripe. Another time. The windfalls I picked up made the best peach cobbler though!! Maybe you could offer rock clearance for free on certain day, would be perfect for a dry creek!!
Huge fan! Introduced Manresa Bread to you guys. Bring new people each time. Karl is a great tour guide. Andy is always a good host. And the fruit never disappoints. We broke the bank this time - leaving with about 10 boxes. Still cooking and eating our way through. Enjoying every bite.
We learned a lot; had a great time picking; staff and volunteers were great and the fruit is the best ever!
What a great time - beautiful fruit and orchards, interesting barn and fruit drying areas (with real history), wonderful unusual heirlooms with the best flavors (and what a bargain for the quality of fruit we picked). Andy is a real gem of a guy, and our guide to the orchards, Jack, was great - extremely knowledgable and saw the everyone had a good time.
The only downside was the number of people. It's understandable why so many would want to come, but the crush at the height of the tasting was close to too much. It might make sense to funnel the attendees into to two groups (Pickers and Tasters) as soon as they arrive. And try to get some "Pickers" out into the orchards as soon as possible, which would open the tasting area. Some of the people who went picking in the orchards had difficulty carrying their bucks back to the tasing area - if there was a cart that could return their buckets to weighing / payment area, I could see that would have helped them. All-in-all, it hard to describe what a great time we had and we'll definitely be back next year!
A great deal for a tour and more fruit tasting than you can stomach. You can eat straight from the trees. Lovely food to buy in the store with vendors whom use the fruit in their products. Everything is delicious. If you live in the Bay, it's a must to experience.
It's a great experience. Love tasting all the fruits (it would be neat to note which fruits will be available on the orchard tour) and appreciate being able to pick. When the tours go out it would be helpful to know which are going to be close and which are going across the street - with young kids I would have prioritized a your earlier if I'd realized the later tours involved a long walk
the only problem is -- this was the last farm walk for the year -- orherwise -- this is just a great summer event... we will not miss any of it. - even with a lot of people at the last event -- verything went very smooth --- gthe tastng area was great-- very good that they now extent the tasting re to the big barn..
thank you Andy-
It was a lot of fun and educational as well.
You created a very nice event, we learned a lot and were impressed by the number of varieties of fruit to taste and pick. We were shocked by the attendance numbers, you have made stone fruit tasting "a thing!" We are glad you are "in our backyard" so we can stop by anytime for fruit.
We had a great docent, John, who explained all aspects of growing stone fruit and grafting. He must’ve managed at least 50 people on a tour which is a feat in itself. Wish we had more time for tasting when we came back!
i died and went to peach and cholocate heaven! see you guys next year! great job!
Our first time there and we fell in love immediately. Food tasting was so good and the picking was even more fun! definitely going to come again.
It was our first time attending one of your events. We had a great time. We are looking forward to the next event over the holidays.
I have enjoyed the tours and customer service at Andy's Orchard for many years, and this year was no exception. Thanks to all of the staff and volunteers who make this a special place and a special experience!
Had fun, would do it again.
Terrific generally, but this time round a lot of the peaches in the initial tasting area did not taste ripe...
LOVE Andy's. Great fruit, great people, and so much fun!
I greatly enjoyed the tour and tasting! It was well organized and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. I am so glad I got to hear about the history of the orchard and of the valley. I can't wait to visit again!
As a fruit hobbyist, I was a bit disappointed with the u-pick part of the tour. I wasn’t interested in peaches as much as I wanted to try new varieties of pluots and other hybrids. Too bad I didn’t know beforehand what fruits we were picking before the tour started...
It was very interesting to see all the different types of stone fruits that are available and being able to taste some of them was fun.
Very well organized and bathrooms clean
The experience was organized in a very thoughtful, friendly way, allowing us to learn a great deal. Our Docent, Carl, was terrific. There were spaces to get out of the heat and plenty of cold water as well as rest rooms. And the price of the fruit couldn't be beat. I'll come again next year -- and call early in the season to see what the estimated ripening times might be. Thank you
The amount of fruits they put out for you to taste was mind numbing and oh so delicious. Their friendly and knowledgeable docent made it such an enjoyable experience.
