The docent was terrific. He was interesting and had a good sense of humor.
Our guide was wonderful. My son enjoyed the tour very much.
Fun time and our tour guide was great.
We were thrilled with the 'Lessons on Liberty' tour! The tour guide was actually a HISTORY professor rather than a paid actor. We loved that he encouraged independent critical thinking regarding our history rather than accepting the glossed over version of events. He makes history interesting and fun! I absolutely recommend this tour!
This was by far the best tour I have ever been on, the knowledge base of the guide was incredible. Thank you so much!!
Entertaining and well-informed guide. Well priced.
Excellent tour by Michael. I am a former history teacher, and I appreciated his knowledge of colonial history and the move toward independence.
Our group leader was excellent with a dry sense of humor & fantastic knowledge of American history! My sister & I thoroughly enjoyed our tour. I highly recommend this tour to others!!
Knowledgeable and fun tour guide. He is a history professor and his enthusiasm for history - and for thinking critically about history - made this a much more substantial and informative tour. An excellent way to spend the morning. You also get to see a lot of the area as you walk around.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Best history tour I have ever had.
Loved our tour guide - so knowledgeable & funny. Good pace.
Michael did an amazing job of presenting accurate history in a fun and funny way. His witticisms were far superior to any jokes we heard while in Boston. This tour was the highlight of our trip.
Michael provided great insight into historical events and people, which helped us focus on the events and perceptive that history provides to us today. Great tour with a great tour guide!
We really enjoyed our tour with Chris! He knows everything about everything! We learned some very interesting facts that we weren’t aware of and we really had a great time seeing all the sights. Chris answered all our questions and Was great at injecting a little humor along with a lot of history.
It was great ti get a tour with accurate historical content, mixed with humour. The tour was not very long in time or distance and would therefore be suitable fir all ages.
Informative, knowledgeable, pleasant, and soliciting and answering questions. What more could one ask.
The presenter was witty and full of history. He made it all come alive and still be fun
Michael was a wonderful and informative teacher/guide! He mixed it up with a bit of humor as well. I appreciate that he didn't 'sugar coat' historical facts and helped us to understand the complexities that existed during the Revolutionary War period. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that there were really too many people in the group (40+) because it was Labor Day weekend. This made it hard to hear at times. They really should have capped the number of people on the tour. I understand that this was an unusually large group, and not the norm. But there wasn't a very formal method for checking in. I felt like anyone could have joined the group without paying. Perhaps a wristband or something would be helpful to identify that you showed proof of payment. Also, be aware that you are not stopping inside any of the Freedom Trail sites. If you want to see the inside of any of the buildings, you should walk the Trail without a tour.
Very experienced and knowledgeable guide with a bit of humour added.
The history teacher (Michelle) that led our tour was fantastic!!! She was very informative and enthusiastic, which made for a very entertaining tour!
Excellent guide. The history was presented with appropriate detail and humor which maintained the attention of all of my family, including my 11yo grandson. As a history teacher he was able to place the historical details of the time in the perspective of those of us living in the present - a true teacher and lover of his profession.
Michael was the most informative and interesting tour guide we've ever had. He presented facts in such a way to make the tour fun and informative.
My husband and I had the pleasure of going on a tour with Michael Szkolka and enjoyed the experience very much. Michael was the best tour guide, knowledgeable, informative, entertaining, and witty. His history telling sparked such an interest, I intend to sign up for an American history refresher course online. We could have listened to him all day! He is an asset to your company and we would recommend him and this tour to anyone interested in the Freedom Trail in Boston.
Michael Szkolka was excellent! It was one of the best tours we have been on anywhere. Informative, humorous, thought-provoking - you can't ask for better.
We had a great time with Michael. We didn't just want an "act"; we wanted to actually learn something deeper than just the simple description of what we were seeing. Michael provided just that. I also appreciated the smaller group size. We noticed other tours with huge crowds -- maybe a hundred people. That wouldn't be very valuable to us. Our group had fewer than twenty, so we could hear everything and ask questions.
