Following a picturesque drive along the stunning Frafjord, participants will embark on a brief yet steep hike to the awe-inspiring Månafossen, the largest and most powerful waterfall in the area. After the hike, a traditional meal crafted from locally sourced ingredients will be served at Byrkedalstunet. This historic dairy farm, now transformed into a hotel and restaurant, includes its own candle factory and is a key tourist attraction in the region.
There will be ample opportunity to explore Byrkedalstunet and delve into Norwegian culture and history. Subsequently, the journey continues into the UNESCO Geopark to Gloppedalsura, the site of a notable WWII battle, where visitors can admire the majestic cliffs and breathtaking views over Northern Europe’s largest boulder field.

Perfect Mix of Experiences - This tour was a perfect mix of awe-inspiring nature, Norwegian history, food and craft. Sean is incredibly knowledgeable—a perfect guide and host of this beautiful region. This company offers a variety of outdoor experiences. Check out their website for a tour to best fit your needs whether you’re looking for a casual, easy day (or week!) or a more strenuous one.

Fantastic guided tour - From waterfalls to fjordside pastures, from boulders thrown by trolls and gods to the most endearing canine companion, this was an excursion not to be missed. The guide Erlend shared plenty of insights about the history and lifestyle of the region. The hike (which was also pleasantly not crowded) provided amazing views and the tasty traditional meal was a nice reward afterwards. A special note for the lovely dog Baldur who made this trip extra special.

Ideal Lysefjord Hike - Stephan was our amazing guide on the Hatten trail. We decided to go for a quieter hike, away from the crowds. This was a perfect half day hike. Numerous views of Lyseford and the surrounding towns along the way. The summit provided the best view! Stephan shared local history and the lived experience as someone who lives in Stavenger. Plus, we had a great time just talking as we made our way on the trail. He took great photos of us and made a short video of our adventure, too. Once we finished, Stephan took us to a smaller town for the iconic Norwegian waffles. All around a great day and great memories made!

Enjoyed the trails and sites - We had a wonderful time with Stephan hiking the Manafossen trails and learning about the region. Lunch was great and the views were very scenic. Great and clear communication. Stephan also went out of his way to help us after the tour ended which we greatly appreciated.

Beautiful inland excursion - Delightful, personal small group tour with extra attention given to all by our very friendly guide, Sean. Wonderful view of the amazing “Mare’s mane” waterfall, which we appreciated all the more after a somewhat strenuous hike up to the viewpoint. Sean was quite helpful and reassuring to my wife, not used to such hiking, during the hike up. The views of the waterfall and mountains with sheep grazing were well worth it! Visited other sights as well, quite consistent with the excursion description

Rugged, beautiful landscape - Excellent guide; excellent excursion. Fantastic opportunity to see close hand some of Norway’s iconic and rugged landscape. Challenging but doable hike followed by a warm Norwegian lunch. Our guide even took pictures for us and made a brief video.

Spectacular Falls and the rest of the trip was incredible scenery, and well worth a day trip from Stavanger - Excellent tour! Highly recommend. The drive to the Falls is the spectacular with a couple of really nice photo spots along the way. Beyond the Falls to the farm is also a gorgeous valley. Lunch was excellent and also the Boulderfield topped it off. Erland was such a great Guide. He really made the day.

A Pleasant Bit of Adventure - Wonderful day trip without the crowds! A couple of preparation notes: Bring proper hiking boots with good grip on the soles. This hike is not a nature stroll. Hiker must be comfortable with rocky and uneven footing. Also must be comfortable with inclines and descents over stone using the chains and ladders provided on the trail. Don't stop at the beautiful falls! Keep going to the Mån farm; it's picture perfect! The hearty Norwegian lunch I ordered (meat patties with potatoes, carrots, and lingonberry jam) is perfect after the hike (the other options on the menu, including gluten-free options, were also tempting). The candle factory and the grounds are very pleasant to walk around (say hello to the goats!). The candle shop has better gift and souvenir options than the typical tourist shop. The geopark visit at the end rounds out a perfect outdoor day trip. My guide, Sean, was welcoming and hospitable; picked me up from and dropped me off at my hotel. Sean was very knowledgeable of the area and its history and happy to answer any questions I had. Highly recommend this tour!

If you're looking for a... - If you're looking for a tour that gives you a glimpse into the Stavanger locals know look no further. Tour was fantastic and uncrowded with an incredibly knowledgeable guide Sean who took us from hiking to eating local food to bouldering all the whole weaving local history into the tour. Highly recommend!

Sean is your guy. - I arrived to Stavanger to hike with my mum, her once-in-a-lifetime adventure to see the fjords.
Our day trip to Manafossen was our first in a line of trips scheduled in for the week.
Sean was very reassuring in his messages and quick to respond before the day, he arrived right on time to pick us up from our hotel and we immediately settled into his confident and kind vibe.
We are unexperienced hikers but with Sean's careful and patient guidance we managed to do our first short climb while having a laugh in the pouring rain - something mum was dreading! The view of the waterfall was absolutely breathtaking. Sean also took us to a viewpoint, to the geopark and to a local restaurant with authentic, delicious, locally sourced food, while telling us stories and anecdotes (both personal and folklore!) His love and dedication for the landscape and the wildlife is a beautiful thing to witness and tagging along someone who genuinely enjoys sharing the experience is unbeatable.
We ended up rearranging our schedule and booked another private trip with him, where he took us deep into the wilderness, completely isolated from the "touristy" spots. He knew our physical fitness by then and he tailored the trip to match it perfectly. We climbed a hill with a view of Stavanger from above and the entrance of 2 fjords - having lunch there with him translating the hikers' rules printed on the inside of the wrapping of Kvikk Lunsj, with the stunning view all around and his pup wagging his tail happily under our feet will be a momemt both mum amd I will cherish for long years to come.
