A charming hotel with a breathtaking view - If you can afford to stay at the Belmond Das Cataras hotel don't hesitate to make it worth your while! My husband and I have already been guests of the Belmond chain at Sant'Andrea in Taormina and given the great experience we wanted to repeat it.
In Brazil the outdoor structure looks in all its elegance from the arrival but continuous access to the waterfalls is a must that makes the difference.
I went with my family to this beautiful property in December 2025 to celebrate my 60th birthday and it was an unforgettable experience of our trip to Brazil. The interior is warm, welcoming and with attention to detail in the furniture that leaves its mark,
Very efficient and kind staff. For practical reasons we had our meals at the buffet restaurant and we had a great time with a wide choice and especially to report the meat department of excellent quality.
The pool is large but I would suggest, being able, to find space for an under 12 pool so as to ensure access to all and above all greater tranquility.
I take this opportunity to report all my gratitude to the staff because on the occasion of departure I inadvertently forgot a shirt at the hotel and once notified not only was it immediately found but once asked for the address they proceeded to send it to Italy. Here you can see the difference! Congratulations you have been superlative.
See you next time!

Priceless Experience! - My wife and I stayed here overnight during our first of three nights to see Iguazu Falls from both sides. The exclusive nature of this hotel, so close to the falls trail and with access to it after and before the public is allowed entrance every day is a true benefit of staying here. It may be pricey versus other luxury properties in the nearby cities, but I call this experience priceless, so it’s worth it! The service was outstanding, and I wish to give a shout-out to Israel who greeted us upon entrance, checked us in, and showed us the property as well as our room. While room hadn’t been made up when we arrived, we had lunch at the restaurant buffet. And the quality was ridiculously great, including filet mignon. The room itself was adorned beautifully, but a small flower vase tipped over while I slept overnight, making my iPad wet. Later, internet stopped working on it, while fine for my wife’s iPad and my cellphone, so I worried that the iPad circuitry had been water-damaged. Before we checked out, the IT person worked on the problem, and fixed it. What a relief to find out my iPad wasn’t made inoperable for internet! In any event, we suggested small nightstand shouldn’t have a vase with water that can easily tip over. Other than this quirk, we both loved the hotel and, especially, having Iguazu Falls practically to ourselves!!

You just gotta go - Iraci was an excellent guide with lots of experience. He drove us in a very comfortable car and made the border crossing extremely easy. He went at a good
Pace for the tour and encouraged us to take our time and enjoy the falls at our leisure. I would definitely recommend Iraci as a guide for the day if you are in Iguassu.

Sophisticated Serenity and Service - This hotel understands that luxury isn't just about fancy furnishings - it's about creating moments. The staff's ability to anticipate needs while remaining unobtrusive was remarkable. The overall atmosphere struck a perfect balance between sophisticated and welcoming. Even during peak hours, there was always a sense of calm efficiency. The evening turndown service with its thoughtful touches became something we looked forward to daily.

Private tour by the Atgentino side of the Falls - Fantastic experience. We left early (7h), to make it easier to pass the border. Our guide Elaine was excellent. Deep knowledge of the region, explained carefully, giving us always time for us to appreciate the wonderful Falls. We had done the Brazilian side the previous day and this was the best way to complete the visit to Iguaçu
