- Iguazu Falls - Depart from Foz do Iguaçu and venture into Iguacu National Park. Recognized as one of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders, Iguassu surpasses Niagara Falls in height and is twice as wide, featuring 275 cascading falls that stretch over nearly 2 miles (3.2 km) in a horseshoe formation. The waterfalls have an average flow of about 2.6 million gallons (10 million liters) per second.
A highlight of Iguassu is Devil’s Throat, the largest waterfall in the area, best viewed from the Brazilian side. Here, 14 falls plunge 350 feet (107 meters) with such intensity that a 100-foot (30-meter) mist cloud remains perpetually overhead. This spot is renowned for its rainbows, offering fantastic photo opportunities!
For an up-close experience, stroll through the subtropical forest of Iguacu National Park to the base of Salto Floriano. You can either take the elevator to the top of the falls or walk over the falls at Salto Union.
