During the walk, the discussion will cover the indigenous groups that once inhabited the Island of Santa Catarina, and journey through the 17th century, a period marked by the arrival of Portuguese colonizers and African enslaved people. The tour will then proceed to some of the city’s main attractions, culminating at the Public Market. Here, there will be a brief pause to sample local snacks and drinks such as ‘pastel’, ‘garapa’, ‘caipirinha’, or local beers. This is also an opportunity to purchase local products and souvenirs and to get to know each other better.
Following this short break, the tour will continue to explore significant landmarks for the black and artist communities in Florianopolis.
The experience will conclude with a delightful surprise at Miramar Memorial. Before parting ways, suggestions for post-tour activities will be provided, and there might even be a chance to join at one of the city’s top bars.
