- Tikal National Park - Upon arrival at Tikal’s main entrance, the park ranger will check the park admission tickets. These tickets are not included in the tour and should be purchased in advance through the bank system or online at https://boletos.culturaguate.com. Two tickets are needed: Park Admission Q.150.00 and Dawn Q.100, totaling Q.250.00 or USD 34.00. It’s crucial to have these tickets with you. After this, a 20-minute drive takes us to the Visitor Center.
- Tikal Visitor Center - At the Visitor Center, entrance tickets to Tikal National Park are checked. It’s important to keep your tickets handy. A bracelet will be provided, and the journey into the jungle towards Temple IV begins, guided by a local expert. The itinerary highlights the most significant points in Tikal, with additional insights into other structures along the way.
- Temple IV - At Temple IV, also known as the Bicephalous Serpent, visitors can climb to witness the spectacular dawn and the awakening of the jungle. There will be time for photography and to enjoy the view from the top of Tikal.
- Lost World - The Lost World is Tikal’s largest ceremonial Preclassic Complex, offering a 360-degree panoramic view. Visitors can appreciate many of Tikal’s structures, with time allocated for photos and observing the Mayan Biosphere Reserve.
- Great Plaza - The Great Plaza is a must-see, surrounded by impressive buildings, including Temple I (the Great Jaguar) and Temple II (the Masks), both of which can be climbed for a better view of Temple I. The guide will provide archaeological and historical insights, transporting visitors back to the era of the Great Mayan Civilization.
- Temple I - Known as the Great Jaguar, Temple I is a ceremonial structure built by the Mayans, standing 45 meters tall. It is a key attraction in Tikal and represents the grandeur of the Mayan Civilization, located within the Great Plaza.
- Tikal Temple V - Temple V, one of Tikal’s best-preserved structures, stands 57 meters tall, making it the second tallest in Tikal. Visitors will have time for photos and exploration before returning to the Visitor Center, marking the end of the archaeological tour.
- Tikal Visitor Center - The tour concludes at the Visitor Center, where a scale model of Tikal, restrooms, craft shops, a café, and a restaurant are available. Free time is given before boarding the bus back to Hotel y Restaurante Las Gardenias.
- Hotel y Restaurante Las Gardenias - After returning from Tikal, visitors can enjoy lunch and rest at this location. The bus for the sunset tour in Yaxhá will arrive at 12:45, with all arrangements coordinated by the tour organizers.
- Centro de Visitantes - The tour continues for about an hour to the Visitor Center, where restrooms and the payment point for Yaxhá Nakun Naranjo National Park admission are located. The cost is Q.80.00 per person (cash in Guatemalan currency).
- Sitio Arqueologico Yaxha - After purchasing tickets, a short drive leads to the parking area, where visitors will explore the Yaxhá Archaeological Site.
- YO AMO PETEN - The tour concludes with a return to Flores, Peten, arriving back at the original meeting point. The tour ends with cherished memories of this unique experience in the heart of the Mayan World.
