Cool palace to see - Lots to see. Lots of art and history. Easy to access. Can be done in half day or less. Cool if you like history or design.

Palazzo Pitti - an excellent day out - We had one full day in Florence to see things and chose the Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens because the palace apartments are used to exhibit an extensive range of artwork; both painting and sculpture. There is also an extensive display of costume worn through the ages. We were there for almost six hours and it was really fantastic. The gardens are huge and there are some delightful discoveries when you go exploring. Make sure to climb to the very top of the gardens because the view at the top, out into rural Tuscany, is worth the climb. A perfect day!

An embarrassment of riches - Be aware - your tix pick up point is a half a mile away. In the heat of the day we just ended up buying more tickets, so purchasing online was a total waste of time and money. The art is amazing, and pretty overwhelming. The part I enjoyed the most was the top floor, where the modern art is. Don't be fooled - modern means the 1800's. But it begins with dark and dramatic religious paintings and leads you through a path to the light and joy of Impressionism and the delight of family life.

Be sure to get your tickets digitally - Palazzo Pitti was an incredible. Spent over 4 hours between palace and the gardens. Staff helpful. Crowd size was easy.

I don't need a priority ticket. - The palace itself was amazing. Maybe the ceiling is more splendid than Versailles. We also had a closer look at three paintings by Raphael. However, I had to go out of my way to redeem my voucher somewhere else and spent an hour looking for it because it was so confusing. It is normal to show your voucher at the entrance and they will exchange it for a ticket. I wasted valuable time. And when I went there, I found a rattle, nobody was lined up. The bottom line was that we didn't need priority tickets.

Had to pick up the... - Had to pick up the tickets and then walk across the bridge for entrance. I would have preferred someone meet us there with the tickets because my mom doesn’t walk so well and we had taken a taxi. It was hard on her to walk from the office to the palace.

missed ticket - I had missed that I had to pick up the ticket somewhere else and therefore missed the time slot. On the surface, it looked like I had an access code for the museum itself.

Thieves - The tickets are NOT available at the venue. If you happen to find them you’re doing better than me; good luck! They contacted me 20 minutes after we’d entered the venue and bought tickets for less money. Total con. Won’t refund.

Turned out to be a Confusing Mess - When we arrived at the Pitti Palace ticket office/ exchange, we were told to go to the Viator office to get our tickets. You receive vouchers, not tickets. This was back across the Arno over the Ponte Vecchio and down some alleys to the office. We were pressed for time, so we paid again at the ticket exchange office. This was a total bust. It was not worth the aggravation and confusion. You should send us the tickets we buy, not vouchers that must be exchanged in another line. Just eliminate all the manipulations and confusion to acquire the actual tickets.
