Nice Wine-Tasting Day Trip in Tuscany - We went on the half-day trip from Florence to the wine-tastings (two stops) in the Tuscany countryside on a showery day. Jonathan, our guide, was excellent, and Francesco, the driver was a careful driver. Both Chianti wineries we visited gave good tours and tastes of fine wines. We actually found one of them to have, along with fine wines, the best extra virgin olive oil we have found anywhere, so bought some and will order more back in the States.

Wine with a view! - We did a small group wine tour in Tuscany with Angela Gobbatto and Prestige Rent. Angela was an excellent guide, Friendly, warm, informative and fun. We spent an afternoon in a comfortable bus visiting 2 family owned vineyards sampling wine, vinegar, olive oil, honey and light bites. Even if you are not a wine enthusiast you’ll leave with an appreciation and enjoyment of good wine And the views were gorgeous. Highly recommend this tour while you are in Florence

Great value and fun wine tasting in Tuscany - Transport was right on time, even ready early! Guide was fun and friendly. Two wineries were family owned small operations. Beautiful settings, good wine and charcuterie samples at each place. Highly recommend - good value.

Perfect Adventure for Wine Drinkers - Our bus driver/tour guide, Leo, was fantastic. He provided some great history and trivia for the drive and was extremely friendly and funny. The wines were amazing and the food at the 2nd stop delicious. Fortunately for us the weather was perfect, so the hillside vistas were spectacular. Staff at both wineries were very personable and provided great service. By the time the tour was over I was ready to buy a Tuscan villa and become a wine making apprentice. Cheers!

Lovely visit! We liked the visit of both vineyards! - Charming visit, the group is composed of about 20 people. A vineyard made of organic wine. The duration is perfect! I recommend if you don’t want to spend the day doing just that, half a day is ideal!

A Journey with ‘family’ - What a wonderful morning excursion to wine country in the Tuscany countryside. The bus was very comfortable and our driver made us feel safe while winding through the Florence traffic and out to the hills in the country. Our guide engaged the travelers with history and personal family stories that made us feel like part of the family. It was an excellent trip and I would do it again, and again. Thank you so much!

This great tour completed our Florence vacation. - This trip was the perfect addition to our 3 days in Florence. Our tour guide and driver were fun and knowledgeable. The group was a good size and the bus, 2 Chianti region vineyards, views along the way, timing of the trip were all just right.

Great First Vineyard, Mixed Experience Overall - We booked this tour hoping for a relaxed afternoon of Chianti scenery, wine education, and a bit of regional history. Overall it was a good half-day trip, but the experience had a few highs and lows worth noting for future travelers. Meeting point and logistics The meeting spot could be described far more clearly. It is essentially a bus stop about a ten minute walk from the main Florence train station. Google Maps routed us in an odd, roundabout way before we eventually found it. Clearer directions from the tour operator would help. The bus itself was clean, comfortable, and seats around twenty five people. Once onboard, the ride into the countryside was smooth and scenic. Tour guide Our guide, Jason, leaned heavily toward creating a party atmosphere rather than providing information about Florence, Chianti, or the landscape we were driving through. He opened with a comedy routine that did not land well, lightly embarrassed a few guests, and filled time with a game involving sound effects over the microphone. If you are hoping for a culturally focused or educational tour, this style may not be a fit. I would have preferred less stand up comedy and more insight into Italian history, wine making, and the scenery passing by. First vineyard: Fattoria Poggio Capponi The first stop was terrific. Fattoria Poggio Capponi is a small family owned estate with beautiful views and a warm, welcoming feel. They also rent rooms during the summer, and the property has real charm. The guide there was excellent. She gave a short but interesting tour of the wine cellar, aging room, and their remarkable ancient Roman well that drops about thirty meters. Their reasoning for enclosing it indoors for safety made the history even more memorable. The wine here was outstanding. The chardonnay was a surprise favorite, and their Chianti Sangiovese based reds and blends were excellent. Since their wine is not widely distributed outside the region, I purchased a case. Shipping to the United States was fast and simple, handled in just a couple minutes. Second vineyard The second vineyard, located in the Lungagnana area about fifteen minutes farther out, was larger and more commercial. The staff were friendly, and the appetizers of bread, olive oil, and meats were good. They spent a significant amount of time discussing the estate’s history and promoting their wines and oils. Unfortunately we arrived after sunset, so we did not get the benefit of the countryside views. The wine at this stop was not to my taste, especially compared to the excellent selections at the first vineyard. Overall The first vineyard was by far the highlight of the trip. I wish we had enjoyed a bit more daylight during the countryside portion, and I would have preferred more actual commentary about Italy rather than comedy. Still, for the price, this was a worthwhile half-day outing and I am glad we went. With a clearer meeting point and a more informative guiding style, this could easily be an outstanding experience.
